One of the toughest  defences coming to town next week need to up our attacking play and improve at the back for their counter

Rate him highly but no way, gave the ball away cheaply for the 2nd goal and wasn’t involved enough in the first half

How scary is the thought of being out of all competitions and only looking forward to league games after next week? I don't worry often, but I'm just ready to see if we get some confidence Saturday and put all of this to bed next Wednesday when we win..... Saturday first

Said it before, he doesn’t get that red card in 2014, with 4 games remaining, that title would of been ours.

Been saying it ever since then as well mate!

Too bad we didn't take chances in the first half. Too bad for the goalkeeping error in the first half. Adrian made a couple of great saves otherwise but the mistake cost us. I didn't think anybody was horrible, despite some of the commentary.

I was disappointed when Curtis Jones came off but half wonder if we might be seeing him on Saturday. Hope so. I thought he and Neco Williams, who I went for as MOTM, accounted for themselves well. Yes, this was a bigger test than they've faced and they had some off moments, but I thought overall they did well.

Divock Origi did disappoint, not so much with missing a couple of chances, but twice caught offside on long balls because he was sauntering back upfield from the previous sequence.

It will be nice for the team to get back home Saturday and I fully expect normal service to be resumed AND to advance to the next round of the Champions League next week.

It's fine to be disappointed at the result and even the performance somewhat, but some of the commentary on here is so far over the top.

      Perspective.

Lovren should never play again !!

Another poor all round performance. Lots of possession. But tbh, could've lost by more, again.

Real worry for the CL 2nd leg if we don't get back on the wagon before then.

Would be a pity for a short bad run to knock us out of two Cups.

Just listen to yourself “not acceptable” like you own the club or something.

scott get real, we have been crap for the last 7 or 8 games, but got away with it. We all love the club, but please look past your idea of what it should be.
I've been a supporter from the 60's, and seen us go from world beaters to Tradigy, and in the doldrums. but we as a club, and fans, do not stand still.
Look at last season, could have a been a hard luck story, but thats the price of being a Lpool fan, it has never been any thing different, they look as world class, and then look like they have no idea.  I'm old, but get yourself ready for the ride and suffer/enjoy the way I have

jones,Williams and Minamino all did well. Jones probably edged Williams and Mini didn't do to badly. I like Williams, he didn't let anyone down. Jones has a bit of quality, in contention for B'Mouth. Will deffo play once the League is wrapped up. Mini needs a bit more time, but he has promise.

We played OK against a 100% Chelsea team. A mistake here and there is what you expect with our selection. JĂźrgen disregards the domestic Cups and I'm with him - use them to play back-ups and to rest key players. PL and CL is what counts. Now, if we don't advance over Atletico next week and play meh like in Watford we can start to bi*ch, but not now.

Not great losing the ball there but what follows should simply not happen.

We played OK against a 100% Chelsea team.

It wasn’t their full team. Alonso has played about 5 games all season, Gilmore played, Giroud and Barkley players who both rarely play.

They weren’t at full strength but they were no weaker or stronger than us on the whole. Both teams made a few changes but both teams had plenty of “seasoned pros”.

I’d be surprised if having Hendo back is gonna fix this. We can’t break through a packed defence, that isn’t a Hendo trait either 🤷🏼‍♂️

We getting caught out on the counter with pace and numbers. Countering that isn’t a Hendo trait either 🤷‍♂️
