With the Man City verdict, I suppose they can go all in. FFP is dead and buried.

Henry winter's tweeted that there are other buyers in line to buy them.

No consolation for the Geordies like but the Saudis global take over really isn't a good thing.

They were struggling to pass the FA’s fit and proper test or something weren’t they? I’d imagine suddenly pulling the plug on one takeover to then try for another team wouldn’t go in their favour either.

Yes to both counts. Thing is though if it was possible, and as a fan I wouldn't really be opposed to it for the simple reason we could all do what City are doing, thus then playing on a level plainfield.

I'm not a lover of American owners based on what I've seen at OT

This was Due Diligence on the prospective new owners links to the Saudi Govt and Human Rights stuff.
Deal was cancelled by F.A. "unofficially". Timeline ran out.

For just once Ashley wasn't the fall guy in all of this.

They passed the fit and proper test eventually basically the Saudi’s the 4 month timeframe was too long in the end. There were clubs opposing it to the FA apparently us and Spurs being one of them.

Give it to Ashley though the mad lad has pocketed  $17M out of it as a non refundable deposit the Saudis gave him.

Something to do with the Prince and his boys cutting up a Saudi journalist in their embassy in Turkey possibly!
