Fair point I'm gradually chilling out about it as well, still a bit annoying not getting the record but in the grand scheme of things who cares.

Your learning  ;D and more to the point chilling  ;D

Am just watching a replay of the fateful Penultimate game of the 2014-15 season at Palace. It’ll be going off at half-time but I’m just looking at the team and wondering how the fook we got anywhere near the title they season. Sakai, Skrtel, Johnson and Flanagan at the back, Migs in goal. Obviously we had some talent with Strvie, Suarez, Studge and Sterling but you’ve also got players like Joe Allen in the side. Compare that team to the side Klopp has built has built and there’s simply no comparison

Great attack but the rest was sh*t, I agree it's incredible we got close to winning. I still curse Brendan for not going more defensive in that game, after they scored the first, plus playing an injured Suarez.
The team now is so much better.

Still think losing Henderson to a suspension was a killer blow that late in the season. Even back then his work in midfield provided a foundation for the attack to do it's thing.

Possibly a factor but our defence was shocking, if I remember correctly we were scoring a sh*t load of goals but often just winning by the odd goal, it was thrilling football though and the attack was soooo good, even better than it is now. We had Sturridge with the season of his life, a rapidly developing Sterling, Coutinhio and of course the genius of Suarez who is still the most exciting forward I've ever seen in a Liverpool shirt.

I think he went all out in that game because at the time (having lost to Chelsea) the only way we were realistically going to win the title was on goal difference, I think we were about 7 or 8 behind City when we came up against Palace so I guess his thinking was to just try and win the game by as many goals possible, which ended up leading to the collapse in the second half. A lot of people like to pinpoint that game as the moment we lost the title and "bottled" it but it was the freak slip in the Chelsea game which done us in. We needed 7 points from the remaining 3 games so if we'd have played a draw in that game I'm pretty sure we would have won it.

Swings & roundabouts / sliding doors anyway - you could argue that if we'd have won the title in 2014 we wouldn't have ended up with Klopp just over a year later. All water under the bridge to me after the last year or so
