You guys are ahead of the curve. Still not a soul at the football games (unless you're Southgate then you can attend). The US is a mixed bag. 22 states (out of 50) have no mask mandate and are fully open and others still restrictive that is unlikely to end any time soon. The federal govt is now pushing variants as the reason to keep restrictions on.
NYT article last week said not a single documented case of transmission from casual contact OUTDOORS. Said outdoor mask wearing basically meaningless and only outdoor transmission from large crowds in close quarters over extended time.
CDC issues such conservative directives, often to detrimental effect . They said fewer than 10 percent of cases were transmitted outdoors, but in reality epidemic specialists say fewer than 1 percent or maybe even 0.1 percent. It would be like saying fewer than 10000 people were attacked by sharks last year. It's technically a true statement but the actual number is fewer than 150 worldwide.
