So what 15 arrested and 30 injured, how does that compare to a normal saturday night? I don't get the no wearing of masks but with the nonsense overcrowding, littering, shitting on the beaches, the rave/street parties, the camping in the national parks not that big of a deal was it? Oh right it's Liverpool, agenda time.

      Quote from Redangel
We’ve waited 30 years for this, every single one of us wants to celebrate, the vast majority of us have done it in a careful and sensible way, given the times we are living through. I totally got Thursday night outside Anfield, it was spontaneous, last night was organised, I hope we can find out who was behind it and ban them for life.

I think we know who was behind it. What we don't know is what their allegiance is. Unless he is a sth or member, there's not a lot the club can do. Euronews described our title win as "tainted", because of "rowdy and sometimes violent fans" for the whole world to read on tv, because someone caused minor damage. I know that in other parts of the world, there are sometimes hundreds of arrests at such street parties, and some more unfortunate people don't ever make it home. I don't want to sound a killjoy, but I can't say I really approve of the celebrations at the ground either. We all know why, but virus or no virus, I will never understand why people feel the urge to go to a stadium that is closed and has no activity on. Would they go to stand outside a pub for hours if it was shut?

On the rest of it, we as a club went out of our way to remind fans how best to celebrate, and pleaded with the blueball mayor and his authorities, that we could be trusted to behave ourselves. We will be league champions for at least the next 300+ days, not 3 hours. All the minority have done instead is hand the "told you so" mob, free ammo to hit the rest of us who celebrated responsibly, with the outdated stereotypes. Again.

It is just a pity that seemingly the senseless minority, spoil it for the vast majority trying to enjoy this great occasion, letting the club and city down.

Just read a good article in the Mirror by Collymore about Jürgen Klopp, usually have reservations with his views but this was spot on.
At the bottom of the page some reservation was definitely in order with this little snippet from Stan:-

Those Liverpool fans who launched fireworks and left the city in the state they did last week are an absolute disgrace.
An empty statement condemning them wasn't strong enough - they deserve to have their season tickets revoked for that sort of behaviour.

Then Collymore reverts to type after a reasonable article!
He describes the rioters as "Liverpool fans" and goes on in an effort to attempt to substantiate the assumption by suggesting they "have their season tickets revoked"!!

LFC shirts and banners were noticeable by their absence and to infer there were a number of LFC season ticket holders amongst the rioters is akin to slander.

A false story was spread by blues on twitter about somebody getting stabbed at the Pier Head. No confirmation of any victim, nothing in the papers and no statement from police so it was obviously a dud, not that it matters because its already done the rounds & 1000s of people now believe it as fact

The sad thing was somebody actually did get stabbed to death that night, but at a house party in Toxteth unrelated to the events at the Pier Head. But there was no outrage from the Twitter blues because the culprit wasn't a "kopite"

...."but he may have been" - expected Twitter response

Sadly it’s a part of life now, these people seem to have no limits or boundaries to what they do! All of us, Red or Blue, need to stand up to these morons, if we don’t we’ll all be losers. I sometimes think I cannot be more shocked at the absolute stupidity of some people, but they continue to shock me, sadly!

Sadly think there's going to be kickoffs at the next derby that's at full capacity. Was brewing at the FA Cup game earlier in the year. Large "neutral" parts of Anfield were segregated off and Everton had a massive police escort from Stanley Park. Whether it was needed or not is a different question but it definitely didn't do anything to ease tensions, quite the opposite

No surprise that the "friendly derby" tag is becoming less relevant as the influence of the internet grows. Sole motive for that Dixie Dean carryon would have been to get a stupid video that they can share on the internet. No red I know would dream of doing anything like that to a statue, let alone one that serves as a memorial. The internet has given a fringe of antagonistic, largely anonymous knobheads on both sides a huge voice & influence
