So is how we perform more important than the result? We’ve been like this for a substantial part of the season.

Good finish by the boys, is it bad that I want to see Danny Ings win the golden boot?

Pretty poor but raised our game in the end. Villa defended well but they must be kicking themselves because we were there for the taking for the first hour.

Alisson my MOTM. If Villa go down we could do worse than get Mings in you know.

Lackluster kinda of game but in the end we showed why we are champions by taking our chances when give. Both goals were well worked with nice attacks from TAA and Naby to Mane then the Salah layoff off Robbo cross for Jones.

89 points.  Five to play.  24th consecutive home league win.  About our millionth home league game without defeat.

All mad mad stats and doubt it will ever be repeated.

Curtis Jones knows where the goal is doesn't he!

A scrappy win, but points in the bag.
We've said that a fair few times over the last couple of seasons, but for me, it's great that we keep finding ways to win.

Mings was the difference between 2-0 and a fair few more. The lad had a good game.

      MOTM Alisson.
No one else really stood out, and he made a couple of nice saves.

Really poor game from both sides until the three subs came on for us.
That bit of extra quality made a difference.
Not a good day for Ox or Origi. Jones did better than them in his time as sub, delighted for him getting the goal too.
Salah nowhere near his best either.
But did enough to win. 17 out of 17 at home this season.
89 points already, not done yet...

A very good sum up Bmck, if I was the Ox, Keita or Divock I would be sending out a message to the boss that in my performance you've just seen there's absolutely no way anyone is getting my shirt, unfortunately the skill, the desire, the quality of play wasn't there, and that goes for Fab as well.

Could be but Nabby needs to play high.He was as lost as the rest in the first half.Boss moved him higher after Hendo came on and Nabby got more involved. Jones doesn't lack confidence and I would give him as start but in a home game.

      One word PHEW!

Much much better after the regulars came on but it highlights once again that our reserves are a bit suspect and need improvement.

Well thought Naby did OK, kept going and a nice pass to Sadio for the goal. The other two were passengers.

Boring game really until mane’s goal. Delighted for Curtis Jones, great weekend for him.

Origi gets his chance and produces that ? Upgrade needed in that department for sure and Klopp definitely more than anyone knows that.

Alisson’s save at the end, brilliant.

89 points 5 games to go is some achievement.

"Playing against a team fighting for their life." - Robbo.

Story of the match along with the team being resilient enough to get three points. "That's why we're champions." - Robbo again.
