League Cup 2020/21: Winners Man City
      Aug 13, 2020 02:23:00 pm
Dates for the Carabao Cup as follows.

      Round 1 September 5
      Round 2 September 15/16
      Round 3 Semptember 22/23
      Round 4 September 29/30
      Round 5 December 22/23
      Semi Finals January 5/6
      Final Februry 28

First 4 rounds in September, is that a good thing or bad?

Actually think it's great as teams can use it as warm ups for the League. Just as good as having friendly's pre season. Good decision in my book.

Doesn't the league start on the 12th Sept?

It does, my mistake  :f_doh: However, it's still good to get this minor competition out of the way that bit quicker with so many rounds in the month. You against the idea or for?

I don't think teams who compete in Europe enter the League Cup until the 3rd round do they? With non-European Premier League teams entering in the 2nd, it's only teams from the championship & below who enter from the first round. Only real change for us is that the 4th round comes a week after the 3rd. 4th round is usually sometime in late October I think

Would be a good way to get the fringe players and new signings up to speed so I'm happy with it.

Yeah without doubt great for the new kids on the block to get early chance/experience of playing with some of the big boys. I do expect the likes of United -Liverpool - Chavs - Arsenal - Spurs using a few of their kids though...

Not  sure about City though as they have thrown good sides in this competition over the years. Maybe it's because they like the comp or just the fact they have the strongest bench in the league.

Very easy routes to the final as well mate - This year you lot were the only decent team they had to play in the competition: Preston, Southampton, Oxford, United in the semis & then Villa in the final.

Season before was Oxford, Fulham Leicester, Burton in the semis and Chelsea in the final

Season before that was West Brom, Wolves, Leicester, Bristol in the semis & Arsenal in the final

Fair play to them though, I suppose you can only beat what's in front of you. Just shows that if you take it seriously and get a bit of luck in the draw it's a very winnable competition. I'm sure the supporters aren't complaining about regular trips to Wembley. I think it's nearly 5 years since we've been and it will have been 9 years since we last won anything there

Another good thing about the timing of the fixtures is some of our loan candidates can play in these games before they have to be registered with a.club squad for league play. helps Jürgen decide what to do AND gives interested clubs a chance to evaluate, plus match experience fkr our players.

Of course the main benefit is a coach ride to Lincoln.

Does anyone know when exactly the next round of games are?

Keep hearing that they're next week but can't find the date of the Arsenal fixture anywhere online.

They seem to all be Sept 30th, but that doesn't seem right.

Will be interesting to see how strong a team Jürgen fields for this, I'm guessing fairly strong, we'll certainly need a better defence against Arsenal if we hope to progress so hopefully Joe is available for this.

Yea I seem that you posted the dates mate but found it really strange that the website doesn't have the fixtures on yet given the games are next week.

Hoping Tottenham get through in this one, can’t stand Lampard, thinks he’s mr big bollocks already the way he holds himself on the touch line and in interviews... needs humbling big style this season.

I used to like Lampard until I've seen how he reacts as a manager, thinks he's a c**t now.

Never liked him, has always looked like a cocky fool who’s always sucking on a wasp...

Full strength Cry team tonight, Leeds will be liking that, they are running KDB into the ground, wouldn’t be surprised if he picks up a injury this year...

That’s Ole saved for another few months at least 🙏🏻

Everton lost a few players today though, will be interesting to see if it will affect them in the league, especially losing Allan...
