Another replay angle showed it may have hit McGuire's hand off Pogba's header.

What should he refer to him as then, "that c**t who scored when Stevie G slipped" 🤔😉.

In all seriousness if it was a white guy on a bench of BAME players/coaches would it be considered racist if a BAME 4th official said "that white guy", if not why not?

Well has that ever happened before?

I haven't heard of any instances in football where a white player was upset over a black officials comments.

And white people might not be so upset as they likely never had to endure any form of racism their entire lives.

It wasnt a pen, and the second goal should have been cancelled. The ball hit mcguires hand from pogbas header. The funny part is that they checked it on VAR and didnt see it. The ref is shitt. They are so lucky anyway #4moreyearsforOle :D

During the NBA playoffs Luka Doncic was called a “bi*ch ass white boy” by an opposing player of a different color. Never the media sh*t storm if it had been the other way around.

Great thing here is Mancs in the EL will kill their PL form they can kiss goodbye to any top 4 hopes now.

Let's try and look on the bright side, hopefully Ole now gets his marching orders.

Was he called a monkey? or a nigger? or any other derogatory word? or was he referred to as a black player, because, you know, he's black.

OK let me give you a few examples of how a white person can suffer racism:

      1) I was working in an IT team, doing a good job, all good. My colleague who is BAME sods off on unofficial gardening leave for half a year and as soon as he clicks his fingers takes my job despite me showing the boss, also BAME, that I worked harder than him was more effective and had better customer feedback. BTW both me and the colleague are contractors so no HR, not that it would make any difference.

      2) The way Eastern Europeans are treated in the UK, with the women often branded as prostitutes. BTW I consider Xenophobia the same as racism.

      3) a recent job advert at the BBC saying it was only open to BAME people.

BTW I of course acknowledge that BAME people have suffered a lot of racism in the past but I'm yet to be convinced by white privilege in 2020, when it's a fact that the least privileged group now is poor white people.

As I said I am more than happy to hear more about this and to learn more.

Well based on the players reaction whatever the official said it was pretty F***ing hurtful and taken in a racist context.

You may not believe a man called "that black guy" by another man of different skin colour is in any way racist fine that's your opinion.

The player tonight did take offence to it, so if he feels strongly this way at being referred to as a "black guy", and not just another person, then maybe we should shut up and listen we might actually see from his perspective.

Well that player should have been reprimanded for his comment as it's racist. Again white people offended racially by non-white people is the exception not the norm for many centuries now.

Look I'm not saying racism doesn't exist towards white people, or race based discrimination from disparate treatment in the workplace doesn't exist as in the personal example you gave. That's wrong too of course. I personally have never experienced anything like this but if I did I would take issue and voice my disappointment at the situation.

But there is still a big gap between race based issues towards white people and race based issues towards BAME people as evidenced in front of thousands of viewers again tonight.
