      Meh.

Better team lost in a friendly.

Whilst in this game, the better team won the Charity Shield.

Hard luck, Mane had chances to end the game.

      MOTM Robertson.

The same Robertson who didn't complete a single cross or pass and fluffed the header at the end?

Decent game, bit disappointed to loose out, albeit on penoes.
We were better when Keita/Minamino came on, best I've seen so far in a red shirt from Takumi, nice to get the goal too.

Biggest errors were from Klopp today. Milner should have started at RB in place of Williams, Keita should have been in the midfield from the start and Brewster shouldn’t have had his first touch of the game as a penalty after coming on 30 seconds before the end.

On a side note, as good as Alisson is, all the penalties we have faced with him in goal, I don’t remember him getting close to a single one. I could be wrong but saving penalties is probably the only weak area of his game.

Arsenal look like they’ve just won the Champions League! Feel so sorry for Brewster, he had no time to adjust to playing the game before he had to take his penalty! Why did Mane not take one, I love Jürgen but sometimes I don’t get his decisions!

And Martinez didnt save IT. Dont forget, he is a young lad, taking pens. Its only community shield.

Didn't Arsenal have some young lads as well? Anyway it should never have gone to penalties, it was a crap team performance, again.

Yea strange to put so much pressure on Brewster when Mane could have taken a pen.

Might have asked to take one or takes them regularly no excuse missing any pen for me when you dont make the keeper save it

Exactly, would have been nice to win it but it's no major honour.

The same who put in two beautiful crosses that were either offside and cost us a goal. And Mane fluffing the other. The same that lofted a beauty to Mane only for him to heavy touch it. The same who was super solid in the back

I was thinking the exact same, almost expected him to bring Adrian on.  I'm assuming he has saved a penalty but I don't think it's a particular strong point from him.

Bit harsh on Brewster bringing him on with about 100 seconds to go and expecting him to be ready to take a penalty straight away.  Had he even touched the ball?

      Wrong.

We were by far the better side for most of the second half but didn't push enough for a winner.

Yes that was bizarre choice to have someone who hadn't had a touch be the third pen taker, but in truth I had no confidence in us winning on penalties. Allison is sh*t at penalties,, his one weakness.

That was a bit sh*te in all fairness. We need a boost a new signing in midfield and up front. Just to keep everyone on their toes. It's going to be a long tough season. Everyone is going a want to nick points off us. RB cover might be an issue aswell. I'd like to see Hoever given a run out instead of Williams.

No I won't, we were sh*t today against a half fit Arsenal side, I'm quite worried for this coming season. Hopefully Gini fucks off so we can scrape the pennies together for Thiago.

I would see how we do in the first few league games before worrying, this is still pre-season and we're still the same team that ran away with the league last season and won multiple trophies.

Why isn’t Sadio taking a pen or Virg...wrong choice Jürgen

This is the risk that Klopp has decided to take in order to give him the match experience without sacrificing points when he makes a mistake. It's a decision a manager has to make.

If we don't give him a chance, we'll be denying him match experience. Yet if we give him a chance and he misses, we'd say he shouldn't be taking the pen. Catch 22.

Not straightforward. It's just a management decision.

There’s a serious player in Minamino. Bobbys going to have to find another gear or two this season I feel.

No doubt people will over react to this but let’s not forget that this was just another pre season match. I remember pre season last year being full of defeats and sh*te performances and that turned out ok...
