      F.A.Cup 2020/21
      Sep 02, 2020 08:40:35 pm

      Starts tonight I think.

There will be no FA Cup replays during the 2020-21 season to "ease pressure" on the football calendar.

The competition will start with the extra preliminary around on 1 September and the final is due to be played at Wembley Stadium on 15 May 2021.

It has also been announced the Carabao Cup semi-finals will be one-legged.

The first round is scheduled for 5 September, while the next three rounds will be played on consecutive midweek dates from 15-16 September.

The Premier League season is due to start on 12 September, with the final round of matches on 23 May 2021. The league says fixtures will be announced no later than 21 August.

Fixtures for the 2020-21 English Football League (EFL) season will be released on 21 August with the Championship, League One and League Two also all scheduled to start on 12 September.

FA Cup prize money has been halved from 2019-20 because of the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

The winners will receive £1.8m, down from £3.6m last season, in line with the 2017-18 campaign.

The draws for the FA Cup extra preliminary and preliminary rounds, and the EFL Cup first round, will be made on 18 August.

The EFL Cup final will take place at Wembley on 28 February 2021.

The EFL Trophy will start on 8-9 September with the Wembley final on 14 March.

Far too many fixtures in this early primarily round to post or to be useful.

I don't see us ever winning a domestic cup under Klopp, he simply doesn't care about them.

15 years since the last one, the longest gap between each win in our history, excluding the wait for the first one.

I know its not as big a deal as it once was but its still something Id like to see us win. A double be nice actually  8)

Doesn't like a lot of interest in this competition here, other than our own involvment.

I watched most of Forest vs. Cardiff yesterday to see a couple of our loanees, Wilson and Ojo. Match was dire and having an empty stadium made it worse.

I have Chelsea-Morecambe on now. I suppose the more intriguing tie is JB Marine vs. Spurs.

Intriguing until Spurs go up 8-0, that is.

FA Cup 3rd round weekend used to feel massive when I was a younger but I just don't feel it anymore. Apart from the game involving us I usually don't watch it at all anymore but I'll probably watch the first few minutes of the Marine game later until Spurs score.

Id love to win the FA cup. Hard to believe its 15 years this year since our last one.

Were lucky enough in that we have picked up various trophies since. I can not understand how clubs like Newcastle Everton Villa Leeds West ham, big clubs with no success dont go full out for this cup

Towies Mark Wright coming on at the end for Crawley against Leeds. I thought that schoolboy scoring against us would be as bad as it got this weekend.

He helped us knock a full strength Spurs out of the League Cup in 04/05 at White Hart Lane on penalties. Rafa fielding a team of reserves and then some. Recall the likes of John Welsh, Zak Whitbread, Darren Potter playing.

I’d be amazed if we go full strength.
The cups don’t seem attractive to klopp and he played the kids at anfield against Everton so it’s clear his priorities are elsewhere.

The magic has gone because only the clubs with a good second 11 compete. There is no money and with an empty Wembley and Europa league place to the winners it’s easy to see why clubs don’t really bother.

But I think the villa game was about making sure some first team players kept their ‘rhythm’ for the United game. It would have been nearly 2 weeks without a game else.

That'll put them against Arsenal in the next round.

      Should be an interesting one.

Doesn't seem to mean much to City players.

But would be a great event for Cheltenham if it holds. Certainly has my attention.

Cheltenham Town annual squad wage bill is £1.3m

Kevin De Bruyne annual wage is £18m.

City just knew how to play the game. Cheltenham wanted that goal with about ten to go, far too much time for City to get back into the game.

City have that extra gear when needed, in recent games we've been stuck in reverse! But that changes tomorrow!

      Yep.

Let's be honest City winning it is almost every clubs preference. They don't mean anything to anybody and easy enough to ignore. The footballing public dont bat an eyelid and its like it never happened.

I hate chelsea, hate them so it cant be them. United that rivalary and trophy count battle, city while they arent really on the radar like the others for dislike, I dont like how they have become succesful and I dont want tem winning everything.

Everton Ill be honest up to recent enough would not have bothered me to see them winning it but f**k them.

So its Leicester or Southampton for me. I like Rodgers so Id not mind seeing him win it or Tiki and Ings down at Southampton

I'd be happy for Leicester, Sheff Utd, Bournemouth or Southampton to win it.

I'm just happy to see all our rivals having to play a few extra games to be honest

      Anyone but Everton.

Although it would be quite interesting to see their response if by some sort of miracle they did end up winning it. I'm sure they'd all stay at home and celebrate their first trophy in 26 years in a peaceful manner. Especially after their outrage following our celebrations last summer...
