Strange, thought he's a much better prospect than Williams myself.

      Strange one.

Hopefully we're talking to them then about Diogo Jota at the same time.

      This is a extremely odd.

He looked hugely impressive to me in pre season for his age.

Is the club so desperate for cash we need to sell our most promising young players?

Looks much more composed than Neco does. Really disappointing if this goes through.

Not sure on Jota looks a bit lightweight to me and can't even make the Wolves first team.

Maybe as a squad replacement for Shaqiri.

He plays virtually every game and has been a regular there since he signed??

People say Jimenez is the closest thing in the league to Firmino but as far as I am concerned I think Jota is. He's also much younger and can play across the frontline.

Back on topic: I hope we inserted a buy-back clause in this deal. That's the only way I would feel a bit better about that

      You're joking right?

Jimenez is miles better than Jota and a much closer style player to Bobby.

Could be wrong but I recall him being on the bench a lot last season.

He also tended to be the first player subbed off in most off the game he started.

He's not a bad player but a bit inconsistent.

I actually thought Hoever looked a cracking player and also very versatile.  Maybe have a buy back clause if we sell him.
As for Jota, under Klopps wing he is only going to get better.

Jimenez is 29, a year older than Firmino. There would be no point in bringing someone as a potential replacement for Bobby when he is OLDER than Bobby.

Jota makes a ton more sense. He'd be part of the present AND the future.

If Hoever is somehow part of the deal going to Wolves, then he's definitely someone you're willing to part with if it means you can get Jota.

Sad to see him leave, bit with Trent and neck in front of him and both still young perhaps he thinks there is a better chance of a game

So is this partly a swap deal?

I like Hoever as well but I think right back is his best position and let's be honest, he won't be starting for us at that position in pretty much forever. He does play center back as well but I think the outside is his stronger position.

Klopp and Edwards may see Taki and Jota as 2/3 of our front line in 2-3 years time, so if this helps us get the ones they want in, it makes sense. There is no point in stockpiling players these days. Part of "cashing in" on young talent could be a reduced fee for someone else.

Disappointing if we do let him go given the club had such high hopes for him. As it goes, I rate him ahead of Williams and if push came to shove to choose out of them two, then I’d rather keep Hoever.

I just hope there will be a buy back clause.

He’s not a year older than Bobby, he’s just under 5 months older.

Also, how is that any different to bringing in Thiago who is similar age to Hendo and Gini.

He is older regardless, and the context of my post (really, it's in the 2nd sentence for crying out loud) is Jota would come in to be an understudy and eventually take over for Firmino so it would make no sense to bring someone of Jimenez's age if what you're trying to achieve is grooming Bobby's replacement.

Wish him all the best. I understand him leaving, i would have too of i was him. More chance of him playing there then in our team.
They too have a good coach, so better there then palace or some where else.

      Good luck lad.

15% sell on fee included apparently. Good luck to the lad, think he'll suit Wolves, able to play RWB or on right of their three CBs.

I hope he's happier than he looks in this pic.

But I've noticed before he doesn't smile as much as the rest of our group. Maybe it's nothing. Very good prospect. Hopefully he gets the first team action that he needs.

I rate the kid onver Williams at this point. But to buy for a around 100k and sell him for more than 13 mil is just awesome business, considering the kid hasn't really done much. Love it
