I think he has an iportant role to play this season if he can get himself fit. A LOT of experience just walked out the door so we may need his experience, nous and leadership more so than many expect.

If you put a more mobile player (like a Lavia or Bacjetic) next to him in a double pivot and he can still be a very effective player for us IF only he can stay fit for a season(or even 2 thirds of the season).

this lad is special but I just hope we dont burden him with too much expectation he should play without fear to develop to his potential and that means limiting his appearance somewhat.

He's missed 27 games (158 days Jan - Jun 2022 and 79 days Mar 2023 - May 2023) in two seasons due to injury....I don't know that I'm going to be pinning our hopes on him just yet, although I agree he looks to be the business if he can stay healthy.

Even if he available for half a season, since Henderson and Fabinho left, I would keep him and then leave for free.

If caicedo goes through i can see thiago in Saudi as we start to pull cash back in.

but he is a kid and very slight and under developed he shouldnt be seen as a 40 game a season player .
I hope Thiago is fit we havent seen the best of him yet and that would be such a bonus to us

No Brainer, Thiago stays for me, he’s a magician and no one in our squad has his range of vision, his experience cannot be bought and even if he’s only at 80% he’s good for bringing on for the last 20 against the bus parking fraternity,
He can head for the desert once the season ends and he’ll leave with our blessings, can’t emphasise how important he’ll be for us this season, quality players like him don’t come round too often, so while you have them you keep hold for as long as possible!!

They are both back in full training so prob next week or two we'll see them on the bench.

Expecting a big season from this chap. Fingers crossed the injury Gods shine upon him for this one....

Wasn't in the squad yesterday, so who knows. Maybe Bajetic? I imagine Jones will be out, but again, who knows. Jones and Thiago are both frustrating, as when a door opens for them, I.E injuries to the squad, their body seems to slam it shut . 

Time will tell

I expect the same team with endo stepping into the mac role, when Mac is back think Gakpo will make way.
