One of may favourites in this squad.

Always looks a bit awkward but at the same time is a very effective footballer which is what it's all about after all.

Changed the game when he came on, not as much as Nunez but was a genuine nuisance and won some really good fouls while linking up play well with Mo and Darwin.

Sometimes I feel his link up play isn't where it should be for our front three, but yesterday he was simply brillaint.

I don't know why Gakpo starts ahead of him. Gakpo is good, don't get me wrong but Jota is direct and effective. He has assists and goals already. He might not be as composed as Gakpo but he's damn effective and he can score for sure.

For me, he should even start ahead of Diaz. Yes, Diaz scored two already but Jota is more threatening. He starts 35 games, he'll score 20, I'm sure of it.

It was noted during the game that they thought Klopp wanted gakpo for his physicality. Probably always was gonna put jota on and Nunez on with 30/20mins to go whne geordie defenders tired.

Jota only played 30mins for portugal on monday, so he will probably in Klopps mind to start. fresher.

Good to know Jota should be fit to start on Saturday.

I love him but he should not be starting ahead of Nunez. He played only about 30 minutes for Portugal while Darwin scored against Brazil. This says a lot about their form.

I agree with your argument but I think he was rested after long trip and Jota was fresher.

I say this in a good way...Jota is kind of a pest. He does a lot of little things to make himself a pest to the other team's defenders. Still boggles how he's able to put at least one or two usually good headers on goal each game.

No. Says nothing about their form. Couldn't care less what goes on during international breaks.

We've got good options up top but when all fit Nunez is 5th choice. He's the least consistent and Jota is a proven player here over a few years now. He's a good finisher but his all round game and versatility is excellent.

Things can change obviously and there will be horses for courses. But when the big games come round I doubt Darwin will be starting unless injuries dictate differently.

Jota , Cody and Mo for me is our best 3.

Jota certainly delivers, with his goals, it is great to have options on the bench, one way or another.

He does mate. He delivers consistent performances and that is so important. Salah also delivers consistent performances and numbers.

Nice touch legging it to the bench and parading Luis Diaz"s shirt after his goal today.

Love this lad. Consistent, clinical and absolute class. Just seems to be in the right place at the right time.

Fantastic goal against Toulouse and a big goal today to break the deadlock.

100 percent. Needs to start on the wing atm. Clinical and reads the game aswell as anyone on the pitch. He's not in those areas on accident. Huge footy IQ
