Calf isn’t it? Sounds like 6 weeks at best. Yet another massive blow. Him and Diaz at the same time severely depletes us. Why does this keep happening? Just relentless injuries ffs….

Is it the training methods ?

It's because he got caught on the bottom of the foot while his leg was outstretched.
      It's not training related.

This one is just unlucky ... sums us up. Jota put a real shift in again yesterday. He was my motm. Really sad for him.

Cavalho and nunez to play left side now. Bare bones in defence midfield and now attack. Never thought I'd be happy to see international football but il be pleased when it gets here and we can regroup. Hopefully we've managed to get near the top 4 by that point.

But with the games coming thick n fast we haven't alot to rotate with

      :(

Its just one of those seasons that happens.

Bad luck with Injuries, nothing more sinister than that.

I’m not suggesting it is anything sinister . I’m bemoaning the bad luck.

      No worries man.

I can remember loads of seasons with bad luck with injuries, but usually its followed with a very lucky season where hardly anyone is injured like last year.

Swings in roundabouts and all that.

Intensity of yesterday's game, soon as he went down and game continued and he didn't get up, most fans knew it was a bad one.

      Jota update from the echo....

There are fears Diogo Jota has suffered a 'serious injury' having been stretchered off during Liverpool's win over Manchester City.

The former Wolves forward went down to ground late on at Anfield and looked to be in serious discomfort as he was helped off the pitch.

An update provided by the Athletic has claimed there are now worries Jota could miss the World Cup, with his chances of featuring said to be 'in doubt'. The report adds he will have a scan on his calf injury today.

We all know about the Manchester Echo and the sh*te it prints, the facts are that Jürgen expects our man to miss the next game.

His work rate was great yesterday. Never stopped, and was really important to our pressing. Hopefully it's not serious.

I think it’s bad mate and he’s just confirming he’s out for the next match while they assess.

      Very sad news

With the silly decision to hold a WC in the middle of the season all selected players are at risk of missing it. They have 8 games in 25 days. They have to go at full tilt.

I'm sure some across europe who see the WC as a big priority will phone it in to make sure they are fit. Just daft.

Big blow and best wishes to Diogo. Really sad for him.

Included in the squad alongside Diaz for the Dubai Super Cup. Great to have them both back ahead of the return.

EDIT: Just realised it may not be a confirmation of full fitness as Arthur and Keita also included in the squad, but surely means they’re close.

DJ is finally back in training.  I think he's been our biggest miss this season.  Can we get him fit enough to make an impact in the CL tie against Madrid?  I F***ing hope so....

He most certainly has not been our biggest miss this season. His form was hit and miss for months before his injury. Diaz is definitely a bigger loss for us than Jota this season.

He won't make much difference against Real they will hammer us.

Biggest miss on his first season's form....but even before his injury, it's not like was really doing much.

Yup, he had a brilliant first season, big drop off in his performances since.
