Set up the first and won the pen, was unlucky to be taken off. Had a good game as far as I am concerned

Ditto. He is also probably the best presser in our front line. We don't miss Mane so much when he plays.

A striker is supposed to score goals, that’s what all the Bobby detractors liked to regurgitate. So why isn’t Jota held to the same standard?

Score some F***ing goals. And actually press!

So you just sell a striker/winger who hasn't scored in 6 starts (playing in 3 different positions) after return from injury? Despite him being phenomenal for us in the past?

You guys really think this is championship manager. Sheesh.

Nice that he presses but that’s not his primary objective.

Tbf he was a streaky player at Wolves and went on barren runs only to score in the next six and rinse and repeat.

He seems to be off form lately a trait running through the side lately, it would be nice to see him scoring once again !

Against Arsenal he was starting to look a lot more like his old self , clearly taking a bit of time to get up and running

With Diaz coming back the options will certainly be a lot more potent

Certainly look forward, like many to see Diaz back in the side. His running and skills have certainly been missed. Also it will be good to see Jota regaining his old form.

Agreed. He's still well off his best form but the signs were positive last couple of games he is starting to get there again.

He'll get one more season to see how is form is with a period of fitness but he can't carry on not scoring goals.

He's not scoring because of the same reason the other forwards are not scoring, namely that we are sh*t and don't create anything for them to finish. The moment we go back to pressing teams the correct way and actually holding on to the ball in their half of the pitch then those forwards will all score, including Jota.

I've given him plenty of grief, hope this is a new start and a sign of good things to come for him. We simply have to have him scoring.

Pumped to see DJ getting back to his best!!  I've said before that I think he's one of our most important players and if he can keep this form then we may still have a chance a top 4 finish.  We will still need to sort out the defensive issues, but that's another can of worms....

SO GLAD Jürgen isn't a knee jerk reactionary and decided to not sell Jota after 6 games with no goals after returning from injury.

His second goal was filth. He’s our best finisher. Can finish with both feet and his head, and his movement is very good. He always finds himself on the end of things.

This isn't what surprises me. What does is that its always the same people over and over again. They'll move on from one thread to another based on who is the latest forward to go more than two games without scoring.

You have to admire the incredibly simplistic nature of this approach to football: '' the team is losing? = surely its the forwards since had they scored enough goals we would've won''. You just buy 9 chumps and add 3 world class forwards and you're good to go. If you're smart you play 4-5-1 and you only have to pay for one world-class striker and so you save money ;)
