Get Jones in the 1st 11 and let the kid have his chance.

They will play like a League 1 side coming for a point, and then we can all hail Arteta as the new Moses. Seriously what the f**k is all the fuss about, we play anywhere near our level and we win this.

It may well be tight as they are going to have 11 men behind the ball.

If Joe is fit I'd go with a midfield of Gini - Fabinho - Jones

Praying and hoping that Alisson is between the sticks tonight and he recovers in time, would love to see Thiago take these apart as well, but as we have plenty of midfielders available I'm not too worried if he doesn't start.
It'll be a difficult game though tonight and I'm looking forward to a great battle between these two sides.
Bring it on, come on you mighty reds !!

Hope to see Kelleher get some game time with the first team this year and be given the opportunity to take over as backup for Alisson next year. Adrian is a live body in the net but not a whole lot more with too many mistakes in him.

Alisson Instagram post in the last hour gives some hope that he will be playing to night.

The CoVid rumor is hot as well, but any actual test results would of course be pure speculation.

Hoping for the best (and I reiterate this team can beat Arsenal with both players missing out).

and how is Alisson not fit? Did he develop Lallana-itis starting last season?

Having lost to these the last twice (I know the CS was a draw!), keen to stuff if up them and think we will if we eliminate silly defensive errors and take some of our chances.

In those 2 defeats some of the key stats combined are: -

We've had an average of 65% possession

We've had a total of 39 shots to their 11

We've had 12 shots on target to their 4

And 18 corners to their 5

How have we lost both those games??!!  Oh yeah, we need to eliminate the silly defensive mistakes and take some of our chances, being more clinical, up front.

The more I think about this game, the more confident I become.

COYR - Win by a 2 goal margin to leapfrog that lot across the park!!

If Gomez is indeed fit I still wouldn’t play him, I’d ease him in gentler on Thursday rather than the more important of the two games tonight, this allows him a couple extra days to build his strength both mentally & physically, good news that Ali will play and no mention of Thiago missing the game either,

Thinking about who to play alongside Thiago I think we’ll see Gini & Naby, Hendo & Milner are both non- starters, so our next best experienced two are Gini & Naby, with excellent back up from Jota, Jones, Shaq, or even Minamino, the only other concern/ dilemma is what system we use, will it be Jürgen’s tried & trusted 4-3-3, or the suck it N see 4-2-3-1, I think the latter with Thiago marauding forward probing/ creating for openings in Arteta’s bus parking antics,

Absolutely pivotal we get the win tonight (we will) after Citeh’s debacle V Foxes, we would have a Six point gap (already) over them, last season after 10, we had a 8 point gap which they never recovered , long long way to go of course but no scientists are required to work out the likely parameters if the current trend continues,

I’d love us to absolutely batter Arse, they will see a completely different animal tonight, a hungrier, fitter, more determined than ever animal with added teeth in Thiago, Salah looks as sharp as ever, likewise Mane, I have a slight worry about Bobby but confidence is massive and I hope that’s all he’s short of,

      3-1 Champions

Nervous about this one, Arsenal are just one of those teams I hate losing too more than others, feels like you’re getting nutmegged by a 5 year old when these get one over on you.

      Tactical Brilliance.

Put them in the lift on the ground floor.
      We take the stairs.

When the lift doors open on the Mezzanine we beat the sh*t out of 'em.

Both are injured,  or have covid, or have the clap or they are both fit .

A much different arsenal than the one that came to anfield last year, the year before and the year before that. Need to be on our toes! I can see them target Trent with Aubameyang down that side so the midfielders need to be wary of it. That said if we play our game everything should fall into place!

I've been really impressed with the improvements Arteta has made at Arsenal in such a short period of time, particularly given their squad/team is lacking in quality in some areas (particularly the back 4). He has got them very compact defensively and they are organised and know their jobs, if you've got that and then you have players like Aubameyang and Lacazette you will be dangerous. They remind me of LFC when Houllier was just starting to get to grips with things in his first full season or two in sole charge.

Clearly we have been dominant in terms of possession in the last couple of games with them but they are very comfortable without the ball and dangerous when they win it back and break quickly. We need to be really careful in transition, look after the ball and perhaps not overcommit.

I'd be inclined to play Gomez if he is fit and then play Fabinho and Thiago in midfield with Gini. We look vulnerable defensively with Keita in the side and Thiago is used to playing in a 2 from his time at Bayern so it would also influence it for me.

I fancy us to win but it will be a tough game, i'm going for 2-1 Reds. important we don't go behind.

Big game already to hold serve and take the first lead on City. don't like seeing Everton up there either had to turn radio x over before when their silly song came on.

Think Alisson will play but not Thiago so Joe at CB and Fab in midfield with Naby and Gini
