Liverpool 3-1 Arsenal: In game and Post Match discussion
      Sep 28, 2020 07:00:38 pm

Anfield waiting to host the Champions under the floodlights

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Milner, Jones, Minamino, Jota, Origi, Williams.

Joe Gomez returns for Liverpool for tonight’s Premier League clash with Arsenal at Anfield.

The defender is named alongside Virgil van Dijk after recovering from an injury that kept him out of last weekend’s victory at Chelsea.

Thiago Alcantara is ruled out due to a minor fitness issue; however, fellow new signing, Diogo Jota, is named on the bench.

Out of Alisson and Thiago, obviously if I had to choose only to play one, I would have taken Alisson.

Let's make it three out of three.

First three needs to be clinical today.

Let’s hope Gomez has got his head right after some less than perfect performances recently.

Good to see Gomez start. With Hendo and Thiago unavailable, Fab can move into the middle.
And Ally starts, wonder what injury it was he was doubt with..
Minamino, Jones, Jota, Origi - we're not short options if stuck for a goal :)

It’s weird, we are at home which usually fills me with massive confidence but no fans and the fact the unbeaten record has to end some time has got me nervous!

Presume they setup with a back 5 in front of the keeper.
Park the bus and leave it to Willian/Lacazette/Aubyang to hit on break at pace.
We've found it tricky to breakdown in recent matches.

But Jürgen and this team have shown they can produce when it really matters.

I think my nerves are down to what we’ve seen the past couple weeks with VAR, I’m dreading being on the wrong side of a decision... heart will be in my arse every time they are in and around our box, shame that’s what footy has come too... saying that I’ll take a few cheeky Mane chips onto their arms  ;D

F**kin Buzzin, great to see Joe back &  Fab back in as DM, was looking forward to seeing Thiago ripping the sh*te of of the Arse but I guess we can wait a bit longer, so back to a 4-3-3 in yer face rock N roll footy then, so so happy Luiz is in, Salah will rip him a new one ...again, cannot see anything other than a victory for the Champions,

Very close one. Can't afford to lose it cheaply in midfield. Can't get to high either. Trent has to get tighter on his man esp if it's Aubameyang. Be surprised if there's more than one goal in it.

They are going to play a back 4. Luiz is in so that’s a plus for us. He’s bound to do something stupid.

      Think he meant back 8.
They will raise their attacking intent around 80 mins when they think we may be tiring.
Apart from that it will be sit back and hope for the occasional counter.

We score early snd I might change their tactics, but it won’t be easy breaking through that wall.

Still gone 3:1 to the red men !

Yep. Arsenal will surrender the ball in the middle to make sure they double up out wide so a lot of pressure on our midfield three to force the game tonight.
