Absolutely agree. Very effective in the press, off-the-ball running and in helping us keep possession when they started pressing more in the 2nd half. Big part of the win and it would have been a mistake to take him off earlier.

Running and pressing good but lost possession on far to many occasions

      He did.

To be totally fair Keane did say we were sloppy at times and Jürgen thought he meant sloppy for the game.

Still great to see the big man go all in on him. :lmao:

Joe Gomez was really strong tonight as well, especially in the closing 20-30 minutes. This team of defending (attacking) champions made a strong statement as to their ability. Won it with pressing, and patiently held possession, limiting Arsenal's chances on the counter.

Yea apart from one stray pass Trent was excellent not sure what rosy is on about there.

      Talking about Bobby.

And all this is is two fans disagreeing about a player performance. Not a problem at all.

Said in game about Trent being our weak link. Fantastic footballer but his positioning when defending is poor, it will be exploited. He played them onside for Lacazetes chance Alisson bailed us out.

Too good a baller not to play but at right full for his whole career, will it work?

Know what you mean Brian, but we’ve been down this road before, Trent isn’t a Phil Neale, we know that, but when he’s firing is there a better RwB on the planet, not for me, so I’m willing to sacrifice some of his defensive deficiencies, for the most part his positioning is covered by Joe or Joel and of course occasionally it doesn’t look good,
Things may change when we play a 4-2-3-1, we’ll see , it’s also possible Trent could play further forward and we’ll see Neco or A other in that role, for now tho, I wouldn’t change anything about Trent , he’s not broke so no fixing required.

Think thats the key Billy, best RWB, we dont play wing backs though. Hes a cracking player but I think a Bayern for example would exploit his positioning defensively

Bobby did lose possession a couple of times I'll agree with that. Wasnt easy for him playing against 3 CB's though. Thought he did well overall.

Have to feel very good about this team. I've been reading various little doubts about what everyone else is doing in the transfer market, and fair play, it's a new season. But this team's early form gives a lot of reason for optimism.

Now here's to 11 changes for Thursday and then let's make it 4 for 4 against Villa on Sunday.

I seen him lose the ball once or twice but what player doesn't mate?

What I also saw was a player who made us play how we did. He joined everything together and their defense didn't know now where he was a lot of the time which caused a lot of problems.
