Again similar topic to my last one but flip it over....What player did we sign that had you grinning from ear to ear only to turn out to be way below par??

I put my handsup, I thought Joe Cole be one of those sneaky little signings where the player arrives and by just being at the club they hut the form of their life...Joe did thst alright, worst form of his life.

      Benteke up alingside him

Morientes screams out to me for this one. Think he absolutely tore up the Champions League the season before so I was convinced heā€™d be a great buy.

      Alberto Aquilani.

The so-called natural successor to Xabi. Was unlucky with injuries when he arrived not to mention all the upheaval at the club but he never looked right in the team and left after three seasons of bit part appearances and loans.

Thought Stuart Downing turned out to be a poor signing, as for Andy Carroll, more like sick note !

      Fabio Borini,
I honestly thought he would shine for us, but turned out to be the biggest flop since Fosbury fell over that bar, couldn't believe how sh*te he turned out, of course we can add Balotelli,  Benteke, Robbie Keane for big name flops, and lesser names such as Aquilani,  Aspas, Jovanovic, and that world beater Sean Dundee 😃

I donā€™t know if this is the appropriate place to post.

But I just wanted to mention Jari Litmanen. Heā€™s class to begin with. I wouldnā€™t consider him sh*te. Itā€™s just that I wanted to see more of his magic. Maybe it was my expectations.

Mario had a reputation for skill.
Diouf had a good World Cup before joining us.
Both turned out to be selfish and lazy.

First guy I thought of when I saw the thread title. Tremendously skilled but, never seemed to put it all together on the park to use those skills for the side's success.
