If we don’t pass back to Adrian, we will be fine. He’s only dangerous when he has the ball at his feet.

Imagine us going 6 points behind this lot!

No doubt that Everton look a much better side these days and I'm sure without their fans on their case they've probably never had a better chance to get one over us.

Bobby got a few for Brazil, although he was not playing as deep a role.  Think that might make him take his chances now he has found the net again. The players better be up for the battle because that's what it's going to be.

      Im going by 2 theories

      1) Apart from Spurs on day 1 they have had a handy enough start, winning games you would expect them to win

      2) After the humiliation v Villa our lads will be even more determined

No matter what 11 goes out I see us beating them

They're definitely a better outfit this season and look really well balanced.

It'll be a tough game I think Bri.

Best 11 available for me, too early for Joel, fab in midfield for me with thiago and hendo, tough on gini but need to start solid. The usual front 3

Think it may be a tale of two keepers this one,the two week break will have done us the world of good after the shocker against villa.
The sh*te are a very well organised side so far this season but let’s be honest even on there best day they are still the blueshite and we are LFC.
1-3 and sadio to rip them a new one.

Both were in the training video yesterday. I'd be shocked if either are not in the starting XI.

p.s. Reminded from that video on the official site, when Thiago finishes his playing career, he could make a mint doing videos on technique. The boy is just tremendously skilled.

Honestly don’t get the hype around them at the moment just because they’re top. People saying how great they look and discussing whether they can genuinely challenge for the top four.

      They’re F***ing sh*te.

They played spurs first game of the season who were miles off the pace. They weren’t prepared. Taking nothing away from Everton they can only beat whats in front of them but spurs were awful that day.

Then they go to palace and play sh*te. They came away with three points because var gave them a penalty with this new stupid handball rule. It was never a penalty.

Then they play West Brom and were losing at one point. Kieran Gibbs gets F***ing sent off like a dick head and Everton put a few past them and win.

Then they play brighton and looked fairly good. But Brighton are sh*t.

So out of their four league games they’ve played two teams (both at home) who will be in a relegation fight. Palace who will finish bottom half. And tottenham who were extremely sluggish in their first game. So I wish everyone would stop shagging their arses.

Yeah they’ve had a decent cup run too but they’ve played F***ing Salford, Fleetwood and F***ing West Ham who didn’t even have their manager with them.

Now that’s out of the way, I’ll talk about us. Normally going into this game I’d be full of confidence. We’re a million miles better than them at the end of the day and will beat them 8-9 times out of 10. That said, after that disgraceful performance v Villa then who knows what’s done to our confidence. I’ve got a feeling fabinho will be in the back four for this one and only time will tell if it’s the right call or not. I suspect not, but I also thought it was a mistake at Chelsea and we completely dominated. I just think in a derby game especially, he needs to be in that midfield.

      Adrian

      Trent
      Fabinho
      VVD
      Robbo

      Thiago
      Hendo
      Gini

      Salah
      Bobby
      Mane

2-0 to the reds. Smash these lads, they’re F***ing awful.

Very important game, vital that we get something out of the game. I mean we are not exactly in crisis but the 7 goals are still fresh in the mind. We have to get behind Adrian. I mean Robbo and VVD have made bad mistakes so individual mistakes happen.

Gone off that Carlo bloke anyway. So we need to be fully wound up and hit them head on.

More players gathered at Melwood today. Looks like Jota, Gini and Virgil are the only ones missing.

Squad looks to be in very good spirits. Jürgen always builds a great atmosphere among the group - no small benefit over a long season.

Be absolutely delighted if Hendo, Mane and Thiago all available.
Wonder how covid affected the two lads - you hear how it can affect people who are fit and healthy, randomly.
      They seem to be OK.

I know it won't happen, but here is what I'd like to see for this one.

Hendo restored at CM alongside Thiago as a double pivot.  Both players have a good range of passing and do the necessary work defensively to keep us solid.

Drop Keita to the bench and bring Jota in as a #10 with Mane restored to the LW position.

Have Robbo and Trent focus a little more on the defensive duties.

Don't try to play the offside trap every time the opposition counter -- just make sure we get men behind the ball and get into a better defensive position.

Keita's got the 'rona hasn't he?  Henderson and Thiago and Jota as the three has definitely got a lot of potential - not something I'd thought about before.

      If you’re playing Fifa maybe.

Absolutely not for a competitive game of football though. Especially in a derby of all games.

Why?  Our front 3 defend better than almost any/every other forward out there.  If we tell Trent and Robbo to stay home a bit more, there's definitely room for another creative, attack minded player in there.  The way Jota drives forward with the ball and attacks defenders think he'd make a cracking #10.
