From what I've read, he lost a lot of money in property and fell out with his brother.

Very sad this. Sad for anybody who falls on hard times but to be in a position where you have to give up your proudest achievement of your career must be awful. I don’t think some people would regardless of how desperate they are because some things are just irreplaceable.

I wonder whether if he played the full match and hadn’t been pulled at half time he would still sell? Perhaps he didn’t feel truly part of the Istanbul miracle.

I hope whoever buys it holds onto it until finnan is in a position to buy it back from them.

      Very sad indeed,
I would hope that one or two of his team mates would do something for him privately, no player should have to auction off their medals/memorabilia.

Always been a strange thing that when his career finished he disappeared from the game.

Needs to get himself on the punditry gravy train. Sure RTE would have him.

From everything I've read, he's just not interested in the game, he was just good at it. I can't feel that sorry for him, he's basically earned shed loads and lost it on London property deals with his brother.

By the same token if we're gonna feel bad for Finnan should we feel bad for the arl fella Finnan knocked over and killed on West Derby Road?

Someone in that Twitter feed suggesting starting a gofundme for him, what the actual F**k goes through some peoples minds?

I know, it is a bit of a sad tale, but he's not a player from the 60s or 70s, players of the last couple of decades have earnt a lot more money compared to their predecessors. I'd agree with a gofundme for a disease related thing, but it'd be a no from me on this.
