The problem isn’t with VAR. the problem is with the rules.
If the rules say VVD’s sleeve counts then he’s offside.
If the rules say Mane can’t be 1/8th of an inch in front of the defender then he’s offside.
Just as the handball rule has had to be adjusted because it was ridiculous the offside rules need looking at.
Only a part of the body you are allowed to score with should be measured and only if the striker has gained a clear advantage should he be deemed as offside.

They are delighting in how they got such favourable dodgy decisions today, and imply that VVD was justice for the bad fouls that we have given to them over the years.  :o

Worrying about VVD. If it’s a bad long term injury it could derail our season.
      He’s that important.
Hoping it’s just a knock but his leg is very straight when he’s whacked.

      Will wait and see.

We are also not well equipped in centre backs at the minute.

Just watched the horrific tackles again and they are pitiful.

Will wait for the results and scans...

With that said, will the FA look at that incident again? Could Prickford still be disciplined?

      They can take retrospective action.

I don’t think so... the referee would have seen it. I’m not sure...

brutal luck. Just give the attacker the benefit of the doubt when it’s that tight.

Unfortunately Computer Says No! And that's the whole flaw with the system, no room for things like benefit of the doubt going to an attacking player or ball to hand. The system will not allow it.

Jammy blue nosed tw*ts, should of been three points to us.

A bit harsh IMO. The second goal was a point blank header with nobody near calvert-lewin. If questions have to be asked then I think it is of Gomez who should've at least been up there with him.

Robbo could of tried jumping, seeing as he was the closest person to DCL. Too easily bullied out of it allowing Lewin the free header.

Behave we haven't dropped to that level yet.

Was quietly pleased with how Matip played today especially if VVD ends up missing the odd game.

Thiago might just be badly bruised as he was able to carry on. Looks like VVD also has a bruised knee. Was able to walk off, the scan will show the extent but it might not be as bad as we think.

We were robbed. Pickford should have seen red.

I'm delighted with the performance but not the result.

Upwards and onwards. Hope, we're a little luck with the injuries.

After the dust has settled & some (not much) of the anger/injustice has subsided it was an awesome performance from the lads,  normal service resumed & good to see Matip back. At times we were as good as I've ever seen us....EVER!*      (*48 years)  (I've still got my keeping gloves from school if required)

The Pickford challenge, if it happened after the offside ruling he gets away with it. Which is ridiculous because Pickford went in not knowing whether it was offside or not. A foul is a foul and if it's classes as serious foul play a red card as per Law 12 should be given.

It should be judged purely on a players intentions. Might not be a penalty as the offside precedes that offence. But it still should be judged as a red card offence.

It's on the official site and the injury is described as "a knee issue"..
