Yup... if Pickford was rightfully sent off, a forward would have come off too to replace the keeper, so a chance he’s not even on the pitch to injure anyone... instead the refs didn’t do their job and left two thugs on the field until the card.

Yep and if my Auntie had bollocks she would be my Uncle

Had VAR done their job, Oliver as well for that matter, Richarlison would never have gone at Thiago like a mad dog.

VAR have let the game down.If they can't act in the face of blatantly obvious serious foul play they might as well pack it in.

It's a farce and the club are right to protest.

Why would he have not ?

If VVD is out for the season the risk of not bringing in another CB has back fired big style - can forget about the title just look at the two goals conceded today!!

Ffs... if Pickford doesn’t get any kind of punishment for that football is a madness.

Richarlison always a risk in these derbies. Plays like a petulant child with a chip on his shoulder. Guessing it's from his hero Neymar

Yup, plus if you think about it, him getting a ban will improve Everton, they’ll realise how sh*t he is when he’s forced not to play... pr**k.

Do the goalkeepers union need to clean up their act. Almost every game sees a forward put through..keeper come out..and the attacker jumps over the ball, because he knows if he goes in full tilt there could be a serious injury.

But Keepers like Pickford don't play it safe. Often said "have to be mad to be a keeper". Pickford is a vastly experienced keeper. He plays that scene out in his head every day and he knows the risk.

Make a challenge..fine but to go in and take the man out, remembering that a keeper can use his whole body as he goes in, was totally irresponsible and dangerous. He knew full well he was putting VVD in the firing line. Keepers get protection from the ref but they need to respect the game and yes play it hard but with some level of safety in mind.

Var ref should be interviewed on TV right after the game the same as managers to explain the decisions, fed up with the way they are faceless. Technology isn't the problem it comes down to human error still

I’ve always said, if a malicious challenge put a player out for any number of games, the perpetrator should be banned for the same period !

Fingers crossed it’s not as bad as we fear it could be 🤞🏻

One thing for the blues pov is Calvert Lewin is becoming a real player. Very strong and under Ancelotti knows how to get goals. Very good header from him today in a classic Everton striker way.

However they didnt have our legs in midfield and take put the sh*t that happened in the game we win that easily I feel.

You can definitely tell he's been getting coaching from Ferguson on attacking headers.

So Virgil has left hospital on crutches.
Rumours are circulating it’s a long term injury. Will have to wait for official announcement but this could be massive for our season.

Matip and Gomez as only two available centre backs doesn’t fill me with much confidence.

Just watched the game back again, and firmino really is out of sorts. His body language is ok but his input is minimal. Salah drifted in and out of the game as well.

We actually played well, but it’s worrying that the villa game could have ended up 9-6 and this game could have finished 6-4.

I'm a bit perplexed by the current offside rules, so Mane goal ruled offside play allowed to play on then check after.
VVD offside straight away so a whistle, why wasn't it allowed to go var like the Mane & let var sort it out after ?

So as I understand it after the whistle blows you can clatter the fook out of anyone and not be penalised

I imagine probably because of the offside decision.

If anyone hits a player after play should be stopped, is that ok ?. This VAR is a joke, it was a clear red, and the knob who 'did'nt look at it should be sacked. Clear as day

What would have happened if liner didn't flag VVD presume penalty and then Var check disallow would he have been sent off then or chalked off  ???

Only if the player being steamrolled is wearing a jersey with a Liverbird on it.

Exactly if they check it then surely shirley they have to give the red card.   Or when we play City in a few weeks time, Gomez should let Sterling get off side then punch him whilst on the ball in a challenge.  What is the difference?

I agree if rumours are true and he's out for 6/8 months I just can't see you wining the league without him, he's your talisman in my opinion. Prickford should get punished  for what was  obviously straight red
