Just to clear this up... the tackle WAS checked. Just not deemed a red. Forget the offside. It wasnt a pen because of the offside. But it wasnt deemed a red because Coote didnt deem it a red.

I agree if rumours are true and he's out for 6/8 months I just can't see you wining the league without him

Barring City we can win the league without VVD. City is the key. If they play like three or two seasons ago they'll win, but if they play like last season we still can win, it just will be closer. If VVD is out for longer I expect Klopp to play like he used to: metal to the pedal, kind of: make 6 goals so those 3-4 opposing ones don't harm.

p.s. I'd kill for Lovren now.

How did u guys see Adrian today overall?

How on earth was Henderson's goal given as offside, I obviously do not know the rules ! There is no way that could be offside.

Any tactic geeks out there, if VVD is out long term, does KLopp change our “high” line approach.
I am very afraid of going back to that era of pre VVD, when we were scored on at a alarming rate.

I'd go back to pre-VVD and look to outscore my opponent. We have the weapons (Salah, Mané, Bobby) and we have the machinery (Thiago as the conductor, Fab as the destroyer and Hendo as some in-between). I don't trust Adrian+Gomez+Matip, I'd rather defend by offend.

They'll get nothing from asking the Premier league to review the 2 contentous decisions. They'll just say Mane was off by the top of his arm closer to the line, even tho if pushed they could not prove it.

And the fact that they can't prove that they could make an accurate call within the time frame they had proves the system does not work.

If you have to guess or use prejudice to decide then the system is not fit for purpose. And those are the only two possible ways to make that call..either it was a guess or prejudice was used.

Eh Bobby is no longer a weapon to score.  Not for a long time now.

I thought he didn't check the challenge and only checked if its off side.  But if that is the case and they did check it then I think there is something seriously wrong.    That is as blatant red card as it can get.  That so bad that it can only be deemed as corrupt.  Who is Coote a utd fan or another rival fan?   Because unless someone has another agenda that is a red, a red to anyone one does not have to be a professional referee even Everton fans felt that was a red.

Thiago's gone for a scan as well. Look at that challenge again. I wouldn't be surprised at all if he is a long-term injury absence now.

Everton got away with assault and battery - and the VAR official got away with theft (and abetting assault and battery).

Exactly. What should have been a comfortable win and 3 points turned out to be a horror show worse than Villa this time because of VAR! We've lost the best defender in the world, waiting for news on one of the best midfielders in the world and got robbed 2 points!

Even with all the sh*te that went on today we were still yards better than the team at the top of the table.
Villa is out of the system. The lads have the bit between the teeth again.

Amazing that they can pass that off as “officiating” of any kind.

Truly baffling and makes you wonder what’s the use of trying to play fair.

This had got me fired up.. I feel like bring it on we'll show you especially with VVD potentially out now BUT as mentioned earlier it's all on what City do now for me. We have to hope they drop points, if they go on a run as they've done before we won't match that without VVD. Bobby needs benching now I think unfortunately time has caught up with him it appears but my biggest worry continues to be Adrian, we'll keep dropping points as he isn't good enough, even with that dodgy VAR call we should have won 2-1 as the first goal should've been saved.

Went to bed annoyed, woke up still annoyed. Richarlison tackle was a disgrace but least he was red carded. Pickfords tackle was just as bad and wasn't even a yellow. Both caused injuries. I'm sure Everton are delighted with those injuries they've caused. F**k them!
