Just listening to statement from Premier League, definitely not normal to be disagreeing with club motives and agreeing with authorities.

The top German and French teams have refused to sign up.

Very true Brian but we have to look after what's going on in our own backyard first.

I’ll be done if this is the case, how boring would it be?! CL is a treat along with the season, playing those teams week in week out will get old soon.

I’m shocked by this, but I really don’t know why, football as I knew it has changed out of all recognition. I await the full details, but I am seriously worried about the implications of this. I think what we all need to accept is that the beautiful game is gone, buried under the greed of players and owners! Money has ruined the game, it’s no longer sport, purely business! Shanks, Paisley and Fagan will be turning in their graves!

Yep spot on, you reap what you sow and all that. The years of corruption and being completely inept organisations have come back and hurt them now. Bottling FFP I think was the final straw for many clubs.

That being said though this bollocks is not the way to go about it. Really gutted we’ve gone along with this.

Nevermind that UEFA is set to announce that they are going to revamp and expand the champions league to include more teams and increase the number of games. Clearly a move that will water down the competition, create even more fixture congestion and ultimately line their pockets with more money. I’m not in favor of this super league, but it’s basically these top clubs telling UEFA to do one, if they are going to water down their completion, this new league would supposedly keep the integrity of the best clubs intact.

Neither proposal is good for the fans ultimately.

If the traction on it started to increase then they would in it like a shot

UEFA etc are all scared that the gravy train is leaving and they are no longer on it

The Prem league and UEFA created the money beast we see now , the Premier league has no issues forming a break away group to ensure the top teams got a big piece of the new Sky money and UEFA did it with the CL revamp

Fans have been secondary for a long time

The ones getting paid a lot of money

But FIFA aren’t going to ban players playing for their country because they know the top players bring in the money .

They earn good money now, will whatever extra they get mean more then going to a world cup?

Take Mo, does he strike you as someone who would give up representing his country that he loves for an extra few numbers on his payslip?

I say go for it. Champions league has the same teams year in year out pretty much.

Man City and Chelsea have ruined any kind of fair play system in this country.

Football has been obsessed about money since SKY.

Fans have been ripped off for a long time anyway.

So go for it. It doesn’t really matter.

It does matter. It matters that if it goes ahead Liverpool will no longer be allowed enter domestic competitions for a start.

Sorry but for me it will no longer be my Liverpool, the club I fell in love with. Itll be a step away from the American " Franchise" where by we could be come the Liverpool liverbirds, then just the Liverbirds until were the Liverbirds based out of Boston
