I said that to Sam before. Reminds me of when our Denise got her terminal diagnosis, they had friends over the road, they done everything together, holidays, nights out, kids played together, then she told them her diagnosis and she never saw them again, they looked the other way in the street and everything. Some people are cu*ts.

And some people are scared. Don’t know what to say, can’t find the words. It’s weird how people react to news like this. They will likely be crying for you behind closed doors, and just don’t know how to approach you. Don’t hate people because they’re different.

First time I was diagnosed was in France 2005.
An ex pat BA pilot's wife saw me in local town.

" Skip darling !  I heard the news !  How long have you got ?!"

      I answered:

" How long do you want me to have ? ".

      Ask a F***ing silly question.

Compelling post to say the least and certainly got me thinking about you and passed goings from my side. What you have printed says a Lot about the type of person you are. It's times like this we should all stick together and be as one.

It's only fitting and hope you don't mine me using the famous YNWA as I'm sure all forum members are with you in these difficult times.

      Great post mate.

This is the stuff that comes along that I mentioned.
The Noise that you need to filter out .

Last year Dame Doreen Lawrence ( the late Stephen Lawrence's Mum ) apologised after she had said that racism had been responsible for the Grenfell Fire.

In April this year she was appointed by the Labour Party to chair an inquiry into BAME exposure to Covid 19.
Today she uses the same songbook.
She declares that Covid 19 is hitting the BAME population due to Structural Racism !

Don't think she is the right person to be handling this kind of stuff.

A group of Tory MPS in the North of England today are calling on the Government to provide an "Exit Strategy. "
      FFS. !!!
How does anyone know how long this is going on for or how bad it will get ?
      Politic soundbites.

It fills the news bulletins and newspapers.

      Stay Sane and Safe .

Don't let it fill your head.

In our lives we meet lots of inspirational people who help and guide you through the tough times, they could be a family member, a real close friend or a total stranger, for most on these boards we are strangers, yet we are all part of the same family, I’ve been a part of this forum best part of a dozen years and have read and replied to many of Skips posts, I would like to think that in those 12 years I’ve become one of Skips friends although we have never met,
I do know that we are on the same wavelength and share the same mindset when it comes to everything LFC, I suppose we are Red brothers albeit at a distance,

I knew of your illness Skip, and knew you were in remission, I didn’t know it had returned nor of the new treatment,  I didn’t know of your wife’s abandonment either and that must have been devastating,

So for you to explain your situation in the way you have is truly inspirational, to me you are that person I mentioned above, to share your experiences both good and bad to those you feel have helped you is just simply fantastic,
I wish I could meet you Skip, I would love to shake your hand and give you a Klopp style hug, we’ve never met mate, but I know that you are a wonderful human being and the world is a lot brighter with you in it,

You take care my friend, stay safe and keep those Xmas lights flashing.

        You’ll Never Walk Alone

      Yo Billy mate.
I always knew you talked a load of bollocks !
No seriously thanks for the comments and yes we've had some good raps on here over the years.

Cancer pushes out the rubbish and instead of life decisions being based on
Do It ... Delay It... Delegate It  or Dump It  ..... it comes right down to just the first and last.
BS tolerance and patience can be in short supply and why put up with it?

You and I are similar over the years on here.
You being about as subtle as a flying brick and me with laser guided verbal exocets.
Who needs moderators when you've got enforcers ?

Yes bud. I am sure we will meet up soon ...as I hope with a number of forum members. I did do a raid into town for the Watford game last December.
The brain goes sometimes ...like earlier this year when I booked a couple of nights at a Liverpool hotel to be in town for the Premier League victory parade the day after presentation of the trophy. Think about that for a moment. That gave people a laugh !
I even asked a mate if he had some tickets for the home game when we'd receive it.
      Duh.
I get away with it. My get out always is " Sorry Chemo Brain".  It can get you out of some useful scrapes.

      Back on topic.

      Dexamethasone.

That's been in the media and has been in use by ICUs for a few months now.

I was on that. It is a corticosteroid. Stops inflammation and in the case of Covid helps stabilise the cytokine storm that can happen to the body's organs when Covid lets rip.
Immunotherapy treatment can go over the top a bit and it will stop any potential "friendly fire"
It also will minimise mucus build up in the lungs.
Helps breathlessness but all this is only information.

NB  *It is a prescription drug.*

Whats App'ed by GP a couple of months back.
Said that I would keep the practice up to date with all medical stuff

" Leave that to me " I said ....whilst he stayed on the front line wearing a Novichok Haz Mat suit  ;D

I thought ... for the next time I rock up to the Surgery I will go as Kenny from South Park in Hi Vis.
Then neither of us would know what the hell the other was saying.

Told him how Dexamethasone was helping in C19 recovery and posted some BBC articles across to him.

Told him however that you get the Raging Munchies on it .

Also said that I had many packets from  the Hospital and Surgery ... so  if he saw me lurking in the shadows of the local market place on a Saturday night selling a few tabs it would only be me.

He said . " You mean Dexedrine ?"

I said " Ooops " ... cut the call ... and thought I should go watch Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas... again.

Staying Safe and Staying Sane now.

It was going to happen. The month lockdown and as London and Brum were starting to go through the roof in R numbers then there was no choice.
Is it right that Knowsley and Merseyside will in effect be on a seven week lockdown of sorts after being tiered? A lot of people could get a lot of resentments about that.
Don't. Cant do anything about it.

That is the secret at the moment being to accept and take fully on board the stuff you cant change. I heard Sean Dyche this week talk about Controlling The Controllable which is exactly right.

      Like they say :

Accept the things you cannot change and the wisdom to know the difference.

The worst emotion throughout of all of this is probably frustration. Being impeded or stopped from being able to do what you want or even need to do. The major drawback to frustration .... it is a bed partner for anger.
      One proceeds the other.
Anger at your self ...the world or worse still ...the ones you love.

We all want to be Superman or Superwoman but at the end of the day we are still insignificant little humans the most destructive species on the planet.
No other species is as self destructive to their own emotions, actions and habitat than we are.

Spending time and money trying to change the way we feel. Buying more and more stuff that we don't need.
More, more, more to make it all feel better and make it all go away ..... but it doesn't.

Then the " let me change the way I feel" by another drink , drug  , bet or affair.
      Only making it worse.
Always feeding the ego trying to be better on Social Media , down your street, in the pub , at work wherever.
Better car, better house, better holiday more stuff and yet even more stuff.
Thing is .... everyone is up their own arse with their own problems and the truth is that they really don't give a monkeys about you .
That's the reality .They've got their own primitive little distractions in life to run after. Illusions .Delusions.

Look after your MIND in the next month. Remember that 99% of things don't really matter.
Go back to one week ago today and remember what was your biggest worry that day?
Or go back a month to the day?
Most of the future projections probably didn't even happen.

There is some useful stuff on Mind .org. Its now about keeping mentally healthy than just Covid safe.
( You would go to the gym ...)
      Books on Mindfulness.
Get a jam jar this week. Put a piece of paper in there in each day during lockdown writing on it just one thing that day your are grateful for.

Christmas ?  One day. Nothing more nothing less. Gone in the blink of an eye.

However get those multi coloured lights round your house .....or your neck and make the world smile.
