Naby Keita and Trent Alexander-Arnold were set to return to training Friday and should be available for the squad on Sunday. Hard to say if either will be able to play 90 minutes.

Fans back at Anfield for the first time in several months.

Nonetheless, should be a tricky contest.

Too soon for the 2 lads Id guess.

Id bevhappy to see R Williams or Philips partner Matip and push Fab back midfield. Gini prob needs a break at this point.

Tricky tie. Good side Wolves. I always want us to win but with things as they are a point wouldnt be a disaster. My team

Gini has been greatly overworked, but with 5 days rest i think he can play this one. He would then sit out Wednesday's game and return on the 13th against Fulham. That'd mean he would have played only 1 game from 12/2 to 12/13, plenty of rest.

For Sunday, Keita can play the last 15-20 of the game then start Wednesday. Ditto for Trent.

Too risky against Wolves, we need as strong a CB pairing as possible for this, as others have pointed out the lads should have had a good amount of rest since the Ajax game plus they'll get a whole week off after this game. I'd be very very tempted to start Trent and have Keita as an option off the bench.

If Naby is fit I'd like to see him start and rest Gini. Still need Fab pairing with Matip as a young gk Kelleher need better protect. Also if TAA start I'd like to see Tsimikas slot in to give Robbo at least some rest on the bench.

      NB: Team no longer available

I would sub Trent at the 70th minute whatever the result is and insert Keita for Wijnaldum at the 70th minute too. Firmino depending how the front three will be playing.

Suppose you’re right about Fab. Although he’s a monster at D M, wolves are a decent side who are always prepared to play open footy. Fabs experience and ability to read the game will probably benefit us more at CB under the current circumstances.

      Kelleher
      TAA-Matip-Philipps-Robbo
      Hendo-Fab-Keita
      Salah-Jota-Mané

At halftime TAA & Keita gets substituted, no matter what (re-injury precaution). I'd try Minamino at Keita's position. He's not really good as a pure striker, but could blossom in some midfield role. Jürgen needs to find ways to implement guys like Minamino better because they are more than fresh!

Many of you guys have Naby in as a starter, let me remind you he wasn’t  in the best of form before his latest injury so to have him in at the start is risky to say the least, if he is indeed fit to play I’d have him on the bench and ease him in gently, we have enough centrally to cope already,

Trent if fit, I would start because of their threat of which Neco would struggle, had Jimmy been fit he’d be my first choice , again with Naby ideally I’d have eased Trent back in but needs must, I was tempted to have Fabinho back in his more familiar role and play Phillips with Matip but I think he and Joel make a good pairing and are more experienced in such a important fixture,

The head scratcher for me is Jota over Bobby or vice versa, or we could go with Bobby dropping deeper to accommodate Jota  in between Mo & Mane, I’m not sure what Jürgen will opt for but that to me is as strong as we can be atm,...........

....we’re at home so Attack, attack attack all f***in night, Wolves can be dangerous so best form of defence is to take the game to them, they are missing their main striker so not as potent and therefore lose a lot of their threat, we need this win to set us back on top, to keep us on track and keep us ahead of Citeh, who i still believe are our main threat, Spuds & Chavs are closing the gap and can hurt us as they can hurt others , so we need max points to keep us ahead of the game, especially as we have Spuds I think next week.

Sunday night probably works out well for an Anfield fixture in which the fans are all supposed to be from the local area.

Still can't get my head round that this is the first time our fans have seen the Champions.

Tricky night ahead - their new attackers are bang in form.

      Need ours back in form.

Tough one to call, Wolves have been fairly inconsistent this season, I also think finally having fans in the stadium will be a MASSIVE boost to the lads.

I think we win this 2-1 but it might be easier than that.

Well they have a goal difference of ‘0’ so have conceded as many as they've scored.
Agree we’re not firing on all cylinders up top yet, or anywhere also to be fair.
Still confident of winning this, although not sure of the combination to use across the back four.
Do we need Fab in there or more so in midfield.
I expect Jürgen to find a way.
Wolves a decent side on their day but we’ve done well against them recently, even when we’ve been a bit off form, so expect similar tonight.
Due to our decimation by injuries I expect a close game with us edging it 2:1

Strongest line up for me.   Fab and matip in defence.  Robbo playing on the left and if possible trent on the right.   Gini, henderson and jones in midfield.
Up front 3 of the 4 not bothered which ones.

Gini and Robertson should not even travel in midweek for CL.

You heard it here first. If we score a 50/50 offside goal, they’ll find a way to chalk it off. Such is my own perception of VAR.

Hit the level we did against Leicester a couple of weeks ago and we should be ok.

Can be punished tonight if we're underpar though.

Someone’s just text me and said he’s resting Jota, now if I didn't have a 7 ft Christmas tree with 300 lights on it, right in front of me, I’d think it was April Fools day!

Last week we got an early draw and all the other results pretty well fell for us. This week we’re the last up, but all the other results have pretty much made this a must win game.

Probably in his contract Wolves inserted that Jota can’t face them..😂

Actually thought as we bought him, not loaned him, that was not allowed, he’s our player! Not long to wait now, hope it’s not true, we need goals, and he’s proven he can score goals.

Thought Minimino was awful in midfield against Brighton
