After ending five winless Premier League (PL) road trips with the largest victory in their top-flight history, Liverpool return to Anfield looking to extend their widely publicised 66 consecutive PL home games without defeat (W55, D11), in which they have averaged a tremendous 2.65 goals per game. That includes a perfect seven from seven this season, despite conceding first-half goals in five of those matches.

Even more damning for visiting West Bromwich Albion is that league-leaders Liverpool have comfortably won their last 13 PL assignments at home to newly promoted opposition, with nine clean sheets assisting a commanding average winning margin of 2.54 goals.

It gets worse for the visitors as West Brom concluded the last round as one of two PL clubs, alongside Sheffield United, to have started as a travelling outsider at least twice without winning (W0, D2, L5), in what is currently by far their worst start to a PL season of the last decade.

The division’s second worst away side have at least covered the +1.5 goal handicap in each of their last three PL away fixtures against all opposition (D1, L2), having done so four times throughout the season. They’ve also done that in their last four PL trips to Anfield, suggesting they could be capable of a respectable scoreline.

Considering he took Everton, Palace, Sunderland and West Ham from bottom 3 to safty it is easy to see why owners will roll the dice on Big Sam. For me as much people seem to moan about managers like Big Sam, Sam Dyche or Tony Pulis I think league could always use one or two sprinkled along the rest.

As for the game we have golden chance to build up that lead, given quick turnaround in fixtures we could see Klopp give a couple squad players a game and save strongest side for the away trips to Newcastle and Soton.

Anyhoo, getting back to somewhere near reality in this 2020 madness, we host the Baggies & that anti-football useless fat w**ker Allardyce, he is the epitome of hoofball football and exact opposite of what football is supposed to be about, we all know what his already outdated tactics will be today, our plan will be to smash through the inevitable buses parked in front of their 18 yard box, i imagine how frustrating it could be but we will get through eventually and hopefully several times thereafter.

Gladly take 1 nil and 3 points on the board. Always find when you expect or demand a big win they dont come, we were treated to a nice christmas present from the lads last week not sure well get similar today.

On paper we could or should but games arent played on paper....11 behind the ball Ill ecpect today from these and thats makes a big score hard to see.
