Think it depends on if there’s an available midweek to play it before the fourth round.

Accrington I think had to forfeit their game against Spurs as there wasn’t a free slot before the next round (in the League Cup).

There’s no real point to this game for us, it’s just a distraction tbh. Klopp isn’t interested in cup comps and we put out a kids team. Great if they win but unlikely to win more than a couple of rounds with them. If it’s cancelled it doesn’t do us any favours either.
I really want us to reach a cup final for the buzz of the day out, but unless it’s the CL, it’s not likely to happen anytime soon.

Let's face it - we effectively forfeited the League Cup game to them last year.

It'll be interesting to see what angle the FA take over this because you would imagine they'll be keen to get the tied played; as are we you'd presume.

Apparently Sky reported 2 days ago tgat new rules apply this year whereby clubs dont have to forfeit. The fixture if called off is to be rescheduled before the 4th round.

However each case will be taken on its individual merits.

AVFC have to make formal application to PGMOL if they are unable to fulfil tie for Covid reasons. Clubs need minimum of 14 players (mix of 1st team, U23s etc). Almost impossible to reschedule so would likely be forced to forfeit if application rejected & they cannot field a team
