For those of you not arsed about this game remember this

We had to send our kids out v these 13 months ago when our first team went to the world club cup....the fans and players celebrated every goal with gusto.......I hope we f**king smash them tonight kids or not

Ditto Brian,i would send the first team out to absolutely smash(double figures would be nice) these for what they did to our youngsters last season and this season with our first team,Jürgen has 8 days after this for the Manc game and is in a no win situation(we are expected to beat them)so lets knock some goals in and show no mercy.

Seriously?you expect the premier league champions to struggle against Villa's kids,i can't believe what i'm reading. Jürgen said when he joined that he wanted turn doubters into believers,it seems not all have taken that on board.I grew up loving the fa cup and it's sad that money rules over trophies but that's the reality for LFC,Pep always plays a strong line up in every competition but sadly Jürgen doesn't.

Why would you think that back 4 would be bumiliated when they have held there own in the champions league and premier league?

When did that back 4 all play together in any competitive game?

Simply no idea what to expect tonight. Quite difficult to predict the outcome, although obviously hope for a win !

Is anybody arsed that we're sending our lads out to play a squad that are coming from a club with high Corona positives?

The incubation period is up to 14 days and the chance that the entire squad that will be playing tonight haven't come into contact with a player with a positive is highly improbable.

Worrying about injuries is one thing but half the squad isolating with Corona and having to send the kids out in the league is entirely different.

I raised a similar point the other day in regards to close contact. It seemed weird to me that when a footballer was positive it didn't seem to mean those in close contact had to isolate for 10 days as per the guidance.

Its not that they have played together, its thst hen they have played they have done ok and against a better quality to what they will face tonight so should be no reason to doubt them tonight

Why rotate? Why not let our starting 11 gettin better by playing together more minutes? The United game is more than a week away and FA-Cup isn't quite like some of those summer tournaments. Get Williams and Phillips out there to free Fab for midfield. They can handle the defensive job, but they need game experience, I mean how many minutes have they played so far? Not that much!

And they wonder why people are questioning stuff. According to the WHO incubation is up to 14 days, according to the British government you isolate for 10 days and now according to the football powers that be it's fine to join up and have an exertive run around after 24 hours.
When will people realize that the WHO are a political entity that don’t know their ass from a hole in the ground and their top concern isn’t the health and well being of anyone? Their priority is their funding.....just like every large organization in this world, show me the money.

I’d wager all those sources probably took their info from the WHO but I digress.

Back to the game, would like to see a full strength squad but suspect it will be a bit of a mix.

Or Klopp will be worried about exposure as you say and he may decide to play a bunch of kids. WHO knows :D

Just checking this is the match thread?!

Bizarrely it's a complete role reversal from our League Cup quarter-final last year except this year its the Villa kids.

Fully expect Jürgen to field a team of squad players and youngsters. I think we might see Thiago to improve his match fitness but I would be surprised to see Fab or any of the senor defenders play. Minutes for Keita, Ox, Origi, Minamino and Shaq. I'm just happy to see the team play on a Friday night, feet up, got a bottle of champers in the fridge left over from Chrimbo so hopefully a win and through to the next round!

Aston Villa will field a U23 side, with coach Mark Delaney taking charge.

That doesn't diminish the Cup at all !! :) Disappointing for them.

So don't expect to see any of our first XI.

Opening a bottle of bubbly to toast our victory against Villa's u23s is a bit much mate 😂

I was crying out for a first 11 squad a few days ago. Now, I'm content with a Mily captained team of squad players. 4-0 win for the Redmen

Jürgen should field a squad of kids plus Mo, and be sure to give him the armband.

Just a lot of players who get paid tonnes of money to play football and have left a good bit of doubt lately as to how good they are at it. They should be looking to run riot.

("run riot" was not a subtle American political reference)
