      Joe Biden, 46th US President
      Jan 20, 2021 03:52:21 pm
Good luck to the fella - going to need it.

Joe Biden is preparing to be sworn in as the 46th US president, ending one of the most dramatic political transitions in American history.

He is due to take the oath of office at about 12:00 local time (17:00 GMT).

Outgoing President Donald Trump, who has not formally conceded to Mr Biden, is snubbing the ceremony.

The new president has announced a raft of executive orders aimed at dealing with the coronavirus crisis and reversing Mr Trump's key policies.

Mr Trump left the White House for the last time as president shortly after 08:00 (13:00 GMT). He boarded a helicopter, flew to the nearby Andrews base, and is now flying to Florida.

He is the first president not to attend his successor's inauguration since 1869.
      Frankly, Mr Shankly

Just seen Lady Gaga singing the national anthem.

I struggle to see why pop singers can't sing the anthem without leading it down innumerable tangents. It's incredible how many extra syllables and melodic dips and turns can be included in a standard tune.

'...And the hooooaaawweemme of the breeeaaaaaeeeeuuhhhhhhaa aaavveee'.

      Agree.

I'm sure even Americans would like someone just to sing a nice clean version.

;D Taking nothing away from Gaga - she's a great singer! But it's always amusing!

      100% mate.

Same at the Superbowl. National Anthem goes on for an age die to the amount of syllables the singer tries to shoehorn in. ;D

Good fact this - Biden is a third the age of America! Age is no barrier though...especially when you are following that mess. Good luck to him! He'll certainly restore dignity and honour to that office and that speech proved it.

Was about to say the same thing, does anyone honestly give a sh*t about stuff like this?

      Smacks of false ‘patriotism’.

I'm guessing you're on about the Bust removal? If so then yes, who gives a sh*t, if you're on about the fact that Farage is on one, then I feel we should give a sh*t, as this is how the far right provoke their followers, and they should be put down.

Yes, the people following and sharing sh*t Twitter feeds.

      Ok soft lad. Calm down.

If you had not noticed, Twitter delivers the news as well as far right/left views.

Here, Mr Brexit, take back control, Save our Fishes Farage, is trying to rile the right wing up, and the American Embassy are shooting him down. Telling a foreign power how to decorate is pathetic.

Good luck to him. Seems a nice fella, saying the right things anyway.

Could've taken a sh*t on the lawn and would still be an improvement on the plonker just gone. Glad he didn't attend, finished out being the graceless f**k that he is.

      Are you part of ANTIFA?

Nah, making wild assumptions is pointless. You'll see one day. But hey, congratulations to Harris the 47th President. Just get it over and done with already. Biden won't last a year with his unfortunate bad health. It is sad watching him.

Do I think Neo liberal policies are there to enrich the elite, yeah.

Just to interject, as you seem to be using Antifa in the incorrect manner there. One can't be 'part of' Antifa.

Antifa is not an organisation, it's a movement.

As a movement it's history dates back to the 1920's in Italy in response to Mussolini's fascism and the 1930's in response to the growing threat of the Nazi's.

Antifa is a movement of 'anti-fascists'. People who's outlook is to limit the success of fascism, much like most of the worlds outlook  by trying to rid the world of Adolf Hitler.

It's a very complicated issue but hopefully I cleared it up a tiny bit.

So you can't be part of a movement?   :lmao:

Maybe I should have been a bit clearer.

You can be part of an anti fascist movement by all means but you can't be part of 'antifa' because Antifa doesn't exist.

Ah, ANTIFA doesn't exist? Wow, that's a new one.
