I don’t think we can win the league.
Tbh, I think if we finish top 4 with our current zero centre back options then that will be a massive achievement.
I’m not being pessimistic. I have never known a injury plagued season like this one.

Big game tonight v Burnley need to get the habit of winning and scoring again. While things have not gone well recently, I think some of the reaction on here and in general is a bit over the top. People thinking well do well to get top 4. Have you all just forgotten what this group has achieved in the very recent past? Is it really that easy to lose heart?

I’ve said all along this title will be decided by the games involving the top 6 against each other. All have or will drop points against teams outside the top 6 but the essentials will be games against each other.

Interesting reading is the results from the games already played, and the mini top 6 table.

      Tottenham 0 1 Everton
      Man city 2 5 Leicester
      Man utd 1 6 Tottenham
      Everton 2 2 Liverpool
      Everton 1 3 Man utd
      Man city 1 1 Liverpool
      Tottenham 2 0 Man city
      Liverpool 3 0 Leicester
Man utd 0 0 Man city
      Liverpool 2 1 Tottenham
      Leicester 0 2 Everton
      Tottenham 0 2 Leicester
      Leicester 2 2 Man utd
      Liverpool 0 0 Man utd

      TEAM            PLAYED    POINTS   GF   GA
      Liverpool        5                   9         8      4
      Everton           4                  7          6      5
      Leicester         5                  7          9      9

      Man utd          5                  6          6      9
      Man city         4                   2          3      8

Also interesting to note, for all our defensive issues we have the tightest defence in the big games

Mini league update including top 7 so welcome west ham

Good work Brian, interesting to say the least, I think you are spot on, the league will be won by whoever has the best results from the top six, and if I’m totally honest for me it will ultimately come down to a two horse race, ourselves and City, the question is, how far behind City will we be (if at all) when the other 4 fall away ?

I’ll make a prediction, if we are with 5 points of them going into the last 6 games we take it, if we’re breathing down their necks they will crack, we seen last season how we built a 18 point lead, we achieved that because they couldn’t keep up with us when it came down to them Having to win in their must win games, Pep is a Brilliant  manager, but he lacks tactical awareness when things are tight, his side can fail to deliver when the tough get going and the pressure is ramped up, maybe I’m getting ahead of myself believing one great win and our problems are solved, they’re not, but last two outings are encouraging to say the least, that perhaps we have turned a corner finally, we will see, but I have a feeling we are thru the worst and the only way is up.

Brian, we have a slight chance to challenge if our luck is changed with the injuries. I said that if we win the next three, we will be there.

In our last 15 league games weve conceded just 10 goals. We have not conceeded 2 in the league since the derby, so all 15 played without VVD.

If last night was the ressurection of the front 3 we are going to be hard beaten

We are very much in the title race - the last months issues haven’t been down to any cb issues - they have been down to a front three that have looked off form and missed chances , plus TAA looking jaded

Last night showed that when that front three plus TAA are clicking then we will challenge anyone. City aren’t going to stay unbeaten for the rest of the season so it’s going to come down to the two of us again

Well when we play teams that actually want to play football I think our chances are good even without a stellar defense. But when we play the bus parker’s we end up getting exposed by that one lapse of judgement and we can’t break through and score against 10 in the box.

In theory we should not play a bus parker in Feb...lets see

Looks like this Long fella is with the national team right now. They have a match with T&T Sunday night so not sure how he’d be able to make it to Liverpool for a medical.

There is talk of him being wanted by some English and French teams. I guess he was the MLS defensive player of the year in 2018. Which is probably like being the best defender in the Championship or worse 😁

Would love to be confident, but one good performance doesn't change our issues.
I was very surprised with how poor Spurs were, Mane could have scored - what 5?

I think Spurs will now lock down against other teams, which could help us as we have already beaten them twice.

I can see Spurs nicking a point at City as well.

West Ham on Sunday will be interesting...we have to show up again
