People were saying that 70-75 points would win the league this season. It was never going to be the case. I reckon City will get a lot closer to 90 points. I personally think they will win in it with 87.

Still lots of footi to be played, all teams will drop points, city and manu still in FA cup and playing in europe, City still in league cup as always (easy draws) ;D , be interesting to see if they pickup any substantial injuries etc.

Nothing is finished, we can at the very least get back to 2nd.

Forget the title, it’s gone, bridesmaids is the target now, and without doubt achievable, let’s look at the bigger picture here....

We have Naby, back from injury, imminent, Fabinho not far away & Jota a couple of weeks yet, just having those three alone will make all the difference, Hendo will stay with Kabak for now, but Naby in midfield will give us more attacking options, I can’t for the life of understanding why Jürgen doesn’t play Phillips with Kabak with Hendo sat in front ?
Anyhoo, it is what it is, we could really do with Fabinho back, that would solve a few issues in itself, but going forward from here considering, it doesn’t look too bad, with those three returning & with the new CB’s we will will have our Midfield back and with it our confidence,

We are in the Q finals of the CL(well almost) and we are getting stronger and more confident and more like ourselves and are harder to beat, with all of the above about to happen, who would bet against us achieving 2nd, reaching the CL final, and who would bet against us winning it having got there, we are approaching the pivotal point in the season and we’re approaching it in a much better shape than we have been last couple of months,

If you remember, the first few weeks without Virgil & then without Joe, we coped admirably with Matip & Fabinho, we were still top of the league, we were still us, it was only when Fab got injured and then Matip that our tits went north, when we get Fabinho back even if he plays CB, will be massive for us, yes we’ll still miss Virgil and we’ll still miss Joe, but we’ve been there before and coped well, I’m confident that our season will turn out ok, not what we all wanted but finishing as Bridesmaids & the No 7 being fixed to Trophy wall won’t be too bad will it ?

United & Liverpool fighting for the bridesmaid trophy and that is it. Nothing more, and nothing less! With City's formidable squad dept they could well achieve a treble + which is frightening. Already looking like they have two trophies rapped up.  :-\

Agreed. This is no longer a title race but a title procession.
And 2nd or 4th has the same prize in reality. I’d take either as a consolation prize.

If united win the FA cup or Europa league and finish top 4 it’s been a good season for them.
If we win champions league it’s obviously been a great season.

If all either of us do is finish top 4 it’s a bit meh.

I just don't see a path to a title where we would have to make up 16 points (and probably GD) with only 42 to play for. City has been on an unbelievable run while our best players suddenly forgot how to put the ball in the net for 6 weeks, particularly at home, and i think that sealed it for the league title.

However, once we get Fabinho and Jota back (forget Naby, he'll just get hurt again) we will be in better shape and no reason why we cannot seriously fight for the CL.

Ye never know. Its been a disaster. But what if its bonding them more then winning? What if it sets a new desire and hunger that they want to make an ammends for it si bad next season they blow teams away.

We have gone from such a high to such a low in a short time, maybe the long term effect will be a beneficial one

      Merson spot on here?

Not everyone’s favourite pundit but knows we’ve been decimated by injuries. Didn’t hear Carra mention this when banging on about Everton’s win...

Hope you are right mate...just getting VVD back in the squad next season, would be a massive boost for the lads and us fans!

At this age, will VVD be able to perform at where he left off?
Mind you he would still be the best CB in the league if he plays half as good as he was pre injury.

We need a win badly just to keep pace with top 4, top 6 even. jeezo.

Jota & Naby coming back will at least breath some life back into the attack, and Fab will give us some stability when he returns.

I think Millie is training again too.

Wondering if we will see all four this weekend or is it
medically wiser to let them train more (Naby has already been training I know but, it's Naby).

Win the CL, wipe out this freak season, get the owners to invest in much needed squad support. Then let battle commence next season. All we can hope for now...

Certainly need to string a win or two together now, starting on Sunday against Sheffield utd. Carry on losing will see us plummet down the table even further, which would be a disaster considering our position before Christmas. Hopefully with one or two players set to return, things may start looking up on the pitch.
We should at least get through to the next round of the champion's league keeping our hopes alive of a trophy !
