At this age, will VVD be able to perform at where he left off?
Mind you he would still be the best CB in the league if he plays half as good as he was pre injury.

He's gonna come back with a new improved knee. Superman did it, why ca't Virg?  :D

Just as you blame Heimy for doing Leicester a disservice you commit hari Kari by doing the same to us, Heimy is correct except he has his 2nd & 3rd wrong way round, you on the other hand are spot on in regards to why , we are, where we’re at, and like MU, we are in a false position, forced through our injury woes and to be honest without a plan B or C, in effect we are one dimensional without our key performers, and unlike MU, we will improve but MU will flatter to deceive,

We are in a position where we can’t say we will win this game or that, this time last season tho, it was almost inevitable, in our current form it doesn’t look good, however, now that that Champions expectations are lifted, we can relax slightly and concentrate more on ways to win rather than how to contain those who want to get the better of us,

It is unlikely, unfortunately that we will be seeing either Virgil or Joe again this season, so we need to plan as such, tonight’s win for example was a important shot into the confidence arm heading into the derby, to me this is a step towards our recovery and hopefully the end of our barren run, of course the fly in that particular ointment are blueshite on Saturday,

If we can get through relatively unscathed, ie, not lose, that’s another shot in the confidence arm, and then we can add some of our injured to the training schedules, the likes of Jota, Fabinho, Naby (shh) , you will find we will be in a much better position than some will make out, but, one step at a time, it’s frustrating, it’s boring i get it, but in the end there isn’t another team aside from us who can get close to City,

5th or 6th you reckon could be our final position, sorry mate but you really are doing us a disservice, we have yet to see a back four without Hendo or Fabinho but it will happen and therefore we will have our best midfield back too, when that happens you will see a totally different animal to what your seeing now,

In fact, I’ll go as far as to say we will finish as bridesmaids this season, it’s not ideal granted, but if you remember the Paisley days where it was deemed all doom and gloom, we finished second too,

Funny how time seems to repeat itself don’t you think ? Old Bob as you may remember was responsible form six league titles in his nine years as gaffer, and yes sometimes it didn’t quite work out how he planned, maybe, just maybe our No7 will become Jürgen’s No 2, I’ll just leave that there for you to ponder ?

Billy, tell me we'll still finish 2nd as I'm F***ing depressed right now...

      Agreed.

Massive April & May for us. Title gone, but top 4 is still up for grabs defo, everyone dropping points, if we can string a run of wins together we will climb the table pretty quickly.

I think we’ll end up 3rd.. we have got our midfielders back in place & our young CB’s are doing are grand job.. just need our forward to take their chances..

like to think so, as come April, we should really only have matip, gomez & VVD out injured.

Might actually be able to see a game where Hendo, Fab & Thiago start in the same midfield during April. ;D

Realistically 3rd is out of the question,we are 10 points off of Leicester and we need Chelsea,Spurs,WHU and Leicester all to drop points in the last 9 games!I think 4th is possible as Chelsea still have some hard games,i don't think WHU will last and as for Spurs they are hot and cold.I'd be very surprised if Leicester don't make top 4 as they look very solid and would need a major bad run of form, far worse than last season.

We’re still in this. Other than City who look nailed on, pressure builds on the next three places to closer we get to the seasons end. Either of them are just a couple of injuries away from capitulation, and when you push that little bit harder, trying to secure every win, that’s when they are likely to occur.
I still have the faith 😊

      So where are we at?

With all respect to West ham I think its down to us Everton and Chelsea.

I think Spurs just are not good enough.

Chelsea have palace and west ham away before playing city, away. A home tie with Leicester which may or msy not mean something to both.

Everton have spurs and Arsenal back to back before playing villa and west ham, and they finish away to city

We have villa and leeds, tricky, and utd away before a run of games you think, on form, we win.

      Chelsea 51 points after 30
      Everton 46 points from 28

      Us 49 from 30.....

PS not sure I can edit the ritle of the topic to top 4 race?

Wolves have become very erratic, I thought they were ok'ish against us, but they were awful against West Ham. West Ham might actually become a bit of a problem, they just don't seem to be having a dip, F***ing Lingard having the season of his life, can't stand that manc pr**k, his snide timewasting at the end, how on earth he wasn't shown a second yellow is beyond me.

      I predict

      Liverpool 69
      West ham 68
      Chelsea 65
      Everton 63
      Spurs 63

We nick it. Think well come into form at the right time while the others will drop points when not expected, always goes that way.

If we hit form I only see us dropping 2 points at utd and 2 at either Burnley or WBA, not both.
