Jürgen hadn't gambled at the back which I totally understand even though I would have.

Like the look of midfield and great to have Mane and Fabinho back.

Both Fab and Henderson at CB, was expecting one to play in midfield to be honest.

      Anyway, lets batter these.

Not surprised we haven't thrown one of the new centre backs in today but think not having Fabinho or Hendo in that midfield will hurt us.

Just makes me keep coming back to the thought of why one of the centre backs weren't signed on 1 January so they were up to speed by now.

Yea, i think i would have but at least having one of Hendo and Fab in midfield and Nat in, but we do have a lot of solid options in the middle as we can see here where we can field Fab and Hendo in the back and still have a middle of Gini, Thiago and Curtis.

Me too... what’s the point buying 2 CB’s & benching one & not picking the other..?

Should have played both with Hendo & Fabinho in the middle... & if the CB’s were struggling you move Hendo & Fabinho back there & bring in more midfield support..

At least one CB should be in to free up Hendo or Fab to their proper role. Mistake IMO, but we’ll see what occurs...

Yep, I would have gambled with Kabak next to Fabinho and have Hendo in front, but good to see Fabinho & Mane back in, still believe we'll take the points and rebuild momentum!

100% agree with everything you've said,i really wanted to see Fabinho back in midfield and i think Jürgen may change it if we go a goal down early on.I can see this being a low scoring game as Pep as i thought has left Jesus on the bench hence not playing an out and out striker.Still baffles me why we didn't sign a CB at the start of the window and bedded them in against the smaller teams. COYR smash these cheating fu**ers.

Would have preferred to have seen either Fabinho and Henderson in midfield and even Phillips in defence but that's just my opinion.  Seems like we've been trying variations of this strategy for about a month.

      Fingers crossed.

The switch can always be made to bring Kabak on surprised he is not starting City playing without a recognised CF mustn't clearly think upto speed

We have two fit centre backs and they are not playing.
Not for the first time this season klopp seems to be making things more difficult for himself.

Our ball winners are not where we need them.

      4-4.

Not in a 1000 years are city letting 4 in anytime soon. They’re solid defensively. Tight margins this one...

Disappointed with the CB pairing, because I believe it’s hurting our midfield flow, I hope  I’m wrong too. Little puzzling tbh.

      This game is MASSIVE!

Lose and City go 10 points clear with a game in hand and have disposed of their greatest threat.

Win and we go 4 points behind and even though they still carry that game in hand we have dealt them a psychological blow.

This game is MASSIVE! Time to fight! Mentality Giants?

      I hope so!

Ever since Klopp arrived, whenever we played City people and pundits always predicted high scoring games because both teams were so good offensively but let's so defensively, yet it barely ever happened. There may have been a 3-3 in there somewhere, but more often than not games were not very high scoring. A lot more 0-0, 1-0, 2-1 scores than 3-3, and never 4-4-.

Plus City seem to have finally tightened up defensively. It took Pep about 200M worth of CB's but finally did it.
