I think City would have won that even without Allison's errors, they were so much better than us today and this season.

Battle for Top4 starts against Leicester next weekend.

Thing is they weren't better til we started gifting them goals. They were passive and lacking conviction the whole first half. We look tired, but actually had more heart and slightly more quality than them I thought, up to the first goal. Even then we got back in it. Gift wrap them another 3 goals and yeah it kind of perked up their performance. (Obviously Foden had a bit of a good game for them right enough.)

Its not blaming, its about perspective.

Whats your perspective on our form since we beat Palace?

This team will not achieve long term success with our buying strategy. To keep up with City, Chelsea, United, etc. you need to spend. Our squad is super thin. Those teams I mentioned have very good quality on the bench. We have a 35 year old, Injury prone talents in Shaq and Naby, and some kids.

Said we played good football for one...

He said we played well in the first half, which we did.

Anyone else not think there should be a motm poll when we lose?

I don’t vote for one if we lose.

Raving about Fodens goal, unbelievable. Not a tackle on him and Ali drops to his knees. Stands up and it don’t go in, simple as that!

I won’t vote today, sometimes I will, if we lose narrowly or if we didn’t deserve to lose, but I can’t, in all honesty vote for anyone as MOM, they all need to own that loss, Jürgen included!

That JK and this team has won us Premier league, and Champions league. At some point last season, we were considered the best team on the planet. So even tho loosing hurts, this team and the manager have earned our support through a bad spell.

Sorry but I disagree, we got a lucky penalty, but City looked much more likely to score than us, but they are a fabulous team, makes us beating them last season even more special.

Something has changed, drastically, and it may not be on the field even if that is where we see the product of it.

To go from world domination to suddenly forget how to play the sport, particularly at Anfield, is suspicious of more than just form. There have been too many collective and individual mistakes.

Thats not even an issue for genuine fans.

However dont confuse genuine fans who are concerned with what they are seeing and asking questions as to why we are in the state we are in as not supporting the club. Im not sure many, if any on here are turning their backs on the boys

Sorry, I disagree. Far too passive. Apart from a couple of Manè headers, which he probably should have done better with, were generally too slow in passing and movement, practically no tackles made, let alone won. Yeah we had a few better moments, but nothing like enough, compared to what the team is capable of. Playing our best midfielders at CB for an extended run, has completely ruined our shape and style. This season is done, who cares about top 4 when you let your title slip so easily?

I've missed all of these post-match 'end of the world is nigh' stuff over the past few years.

Good to know that people haven't lost the ability to knee jerk massively.

I've made peace with the fact that Liverpool won't improve significantly until we've got midfielders out of defence and probably fans back in stadiums as well.

Part of this stems from the fact we'd effectively won the league last February.  Under zero competitive pressure for about 6 months last year.  Lots of factors involved but I don't think the sky is about to fall in.

One of the few things that have kept me going for the last year or so has been this wonderful team and club  it's bad at the moment but I am certainly never going to give up on them like some have and will.

We didn’t look great but it was a fairly even game at 1-1, but then Alisson had a brain fart and we never recovered. Alisson was horrific and was at fault for the final 3 goals, but I’m going to get over it. The title has gone now and the goal is top 4 and if we’re lucky a Champions League run. Let’s now please put Henderson back into midfield. Henderson back in midfield and Jota’s return should hopefully see us put together some consistency.

The modern game is part of the problem. Everyone to scared to tackle in case the opponent clutches his face when his toe gets trodden on. Yellow cards given for basic fouls. The training pitch is where real football gets played these days and the pitch is for the theatre lovers.
