      1st jab today.

Very straightforward process and so far no obvious side effect.

Going for my first one tomorrow.  Second one booked for just before the summer holidays.

I'd describe myself as about 65% happy about having it.  Not marginal but not a landslide decision either!  Hopefully the whole vaccine thing works out well because I won't be getting involved in winter boosters or making this an annual event.

Always got the impression on your covid post you were never really happy about having the vaccine and only would if needs must? Is that the case now or do you feel like your being forced?

Was supposed to have my first one yesterday evening but got absolutely pished on Sunday and was that hungover yesterday I totally forgot about it.

      Re-booked for next Wednesday.

Not sure what way to feel about getting it. Hopefully don't get as bad of a reaction as the wife anyway. She was floored for nearly a week.

Speed of the development of the vaccine and manufacture and delivery has been groundbreaking.  Scientific excellence at its best - they'll be firing out Nobel prizes for this one!

Wouldn't say I feel forced but do feel coerced into it.

For me personally I feel the risk/reward isn't as great as if I was say 80.  Plus I'm aware I'm getting vaccinated against a virus variant (the Wuhan variant) that has already been superceded by newer variants.  I'd much prefer them to refine it and target it a bit better and have it ready for my age group say September time.

But don't worry,  I am having it and I hope the whole rollout goes swimmingly for everybody else too!

This was my feeling a while back when posting on it. Remember me saying it wouldn't surprise me  at some stage they ( government/shops / airports etc etc )) would try and stop you going in places unless you could prove you had vaccine. Obviously not happened but I still think if not enough people have it they may try something whereas you don't really have a option.

Which one you having? AZ. Let us know if any side effects please.

AZ. Okay for the first 12 hours then chills, shivers and muscle aches. Feel a bit rough today but not hangover rough!

You have that dead arm feeling where the jab sent in?

That's very interesting as I know some have side effects in the first 12 hours then normally gets easier. Your the opposite which is surprising.

Had the AZ on Monday late afternoon

No real side affects at all, the dead arm on Tuesday but not Monday, no flu like symptoms whatsoever, felt a bit tired by about 8pm Tuesday, but that’s probably being 42 now and having two kids  :)

Felt fine Wednesday, went to the gym early, work all day and then coaching u12s football 6-8pm

My mrs had it at the same time I did with the same reaction as me apart from the dead arm feeling Monday night as well

Me too David big relief, hoping no side effects for you. Miro had his first jab same day I had my first one on Saturday Feb 13th. He did post while back, caught covid I think week or two after and been struggling since from what I've read. Hoping he's feeling better. If he's reading this we miss you mate.

Anyone not had it yet, try to get someone to keep an eye on you for 15 mins or so afterwards, esp if you driving home. If you don't want to be arsed doing it for yourself, think about the people you could plough into if you collapse at the wheel of a car.

I collapsed 5 mins after a Yellow Fever jab, smacked my head on the ground, unconscious. Next thing I know the GP is asking if I'm okay. Got monitored for about an hour and then got a lift home from the GP who was kind enough to cancel the rest of her appointments.

Just had Pfizer 1 this morn, didn't even feel the needle go in, no reaction, no headaches, just a sore upper arm that came on about 6 hours later. Nice contrast to the experience with the Yellow Fever jab. Everyone today got asked to wait 15 mins afterwards to check they were OK.

A workmate of mine got the call from the doc the other day. He’s in his 30s and was told it was his turn due to his high BMI. He says what do you mean a high BMI? Are you saying I’m fat? Doc says now you’ve mentioned it that’s exactly what I’m saying.  He says why didn’t you just say that in the first place? Haha

I think the only thing that will f*ck up the progress we’ve made now will be new variants capable of escaping the vaccine coming in and taking root.

For as long there are exploding case numbers in other parts of the world the virus will always be out there brewing with the potential to mutate into something more dangerous than has hitherto been the case.

      Are you a scientist?

Im sick to death of this variant nonsense. Show me evidence of any variant evading a vaccine response?!

Let’s just f**king open up and get on with it. Life will never be 0 Covid, it’s here to stay. If you’re not comfortable doing something then stay home, you’re responsible for your own health.

Vaccines are working, stop the scaremongering sh*te.
