Ok I have to take stick from some English people about being from Belfast and supporting Liverpool. My reply is Liverpool is my local club because it's the closest if I get the ferry  :f_tongueincheek:  But my point is, No I cant get to many Liverpool matches and so many fixtures have been moved that I lose money on flights and hotels etc. I watch the matches, I go to Boss nights, I read the news, I take all the abuse from Manure supporters. I feel scousers are the same as us with their humour and musical culture etc. Why did I choose Liverpool, I really don't remember. All i remember is Choosing a Liverbird ribbon at 4 years old and never looked back. Yes the club is the city of Liverpools but it also means soooooo much to so many people on a global level. Just felt i had to post this because it sometimes feels like supporters outside the city are treated like they do not understand what it means to support Liverpool. YNWA

I didn’t say you can’t be a Tory and support Liverpool I said Tories & Liverpool don’t mix well, stop changing things I said, and this what I mean, you just don’t f***in get it do you, and never will cos now your just being the c**t you are, yes we are a global entity but we never lose our identity as a local football club, that will always be there from 1892 to present day, you being from Norway will never ever understand our culture in the UK and in particular regionally, you will never ever understand what means to be a Liverpudlian supporting Liverpool FC, because it’s in their DNA,

Same as I wouldn’t expect to know what the culture is like in your country, nor what the fabric is being a supporter say of Molde, so f**k of with your patronising f***in bullshit, we welcome all supporters from all over the world but none of them will ever understand truly what being a fan of this club means more than local supporters, and if you had anything about you you would know that Tories in Liverpool are as welcome as a doze of the clap, Tory C**t !

      Temper temper Billy boy.

Let me take a wild guess, you were one of those cu*ts stood on the border recently with "English not welcome" signs. How pathetic was that, whilst all the time suckling at the teat of England.

Why is it a stupid question Keith, I'm not talking about physically burnt out but mentally. We all know City have the superior squad so can rotate more etc but after so many years success, how are they still so hungry for success, its very impressive, whereas not so much from Liverpool's Mentality midgets :-(.

You did indeed name that tune in 1.... Squad debt. Which is why I thought it was a stupid question. However, in your defence, I was speaking to one of my best Scouse mates yesterday who also said the hunger had gone out of your team due to the extent of putting so much into winning it last year.

It's only natural, and proven by how rare it is for PL clubs to win back to back titles over the last decade due to the increasing intensity of modern football.

Even City with arguably the biggest squad depth of any club in the world can't do it.

      Quote from billythered
I think Jürgen may have conceded any hopes of top 4, I also think he doesn’t fancy Europa Thursday’s & late Sunday’s, I might be wrong here but I think he’s already planning for next season, even if it is without any European football, unless we’re reigning Champions, and I sort of get it

I don't think he honestly cares about the Thursday-Sunday schedule. He wants more training time to prepare games, so to him, there's no difference between Thursday-Sunday and Wednesday-Saturday/Saturday-Tuesday. It's still 2 games a week to him. The fixation about what day it is, is more of a fan thing.

Plus we're regularly playing Thursday-Sunday now anyway, while we're still in the European Cup.

      Quote from UncleBob
It’s more embarrassing than 10 years ago because back then we hadn’t won the league and world title the season before. This is a monumental collapse.

And the 3pm Saturday kick off times isn’t me coming up with an excuse for Liverpool, it’s one of the reasons I personally have lost interest in football since covid. I used to love Saturday afternoons at work or at home watching sky sports. Seeing the league table change every few minutes.

You haven't lost interest at all. I hear it every week, "lost interest in the game", "not enjoying the game", and "done with the game". And like boomerangs, there they are back the next week, watching games as they always did, then come here telling us what they think in the post mortem that follows.

Saturday 3pm kos in our league are rare these days, and have been for LFC for well over 20 years. If that was a genuine reason for you losing interest in the game, then you would have lost it decades ago and you'll never get it back.

It is a collapse and it isn't. Yeah by the headline stats, it's horrendous. Add in the caveats and the contexts, and the situation is not as apocalyptic as the nutjobs make it out to be. This is not a normal season, and results are not what they were in the past. So when they screech that we've lost a few home games in a row, they conveniently ignore that everyone in the league is losing lots of games at home this season. Not one single club has a perfect home record. The idea that you win your home games and take what you can away, is now the other way round. Even for us. It shouldn't be like that, as it's the same situation for both teams during a game, but for some reason it is. There's only been 2 coaches sacked all season, and 1 was at a club about to be relegated.

All our focus now has to be preparing for August, to hit the ground running with a full strength side, playing games under normal circumstances. If we do that, we'll be fine.

No. I have lost interest. Not all interest. But I rarely go to anfield anymore and usually only watch the live game on tv after I put the kids to bed but that depends on the result. If we lose I tend to watch something else.
Back in the day I could reel off all our remaining fixtures and young players coming through etc... now I don’t know much more than the next fixture.
I still like talking about football which is why I come in here but my interest and passion isn’t what it used to be.
The 3pm kick offs on a Saturday were what made Gillette soccer so fun to watch. And even though it rarely included Liverpool it was still great entertainment.
My priorities are different now. Football used to consume me. Now I genuinely don’t feel it. It’s like watching a movie. Sometimes is good. Sometimes is bad. I keep my emotions for other things now.

What utter nonsense, you can't be a Tory and Support Liverpool FC, WOW. Is that some kind of cancel culture WOKE sh*t.  BTW I don't recognise this Conservative government as Tory, they'd ve shunted so far over to the middle ground that they are more similar to the Liberal party, but that's another discussion.

You guys really need to get into the 21st Century, Liverpool FC doesn't really belong to Liverpool anymore, it has massively outgrown Liverpool as a city. Its reach far exceeds that of the city and if you had no fans outside of Liverpool, then you'd be the size of Tranmere with the same level of success so stop with this xenophobic crap, trying to link a 100% capitalist football club business with the socialist roots from the city, its absurd.

True,Liverpool fc generates massive revenue worldwide because of fans/supporters from all parts of the globe, just because someone's from Liverpool doesn't make them a superior supporter or their opinion more valid,we are all on this forum as we love our great club,no one should be subject to foul personal abuse because someone doesn't agree with them.YNWA

      then Liverpool 81-84
then Man Utd 98-01 & 2006-09 with a hell of a lot of second places as well in between.

BTW I'd argue it was harder to do three in a row in the past, smaller squads etc.
