I'm merely reminding LallanainhisYfronts that he told me Chelsea struggle to get their signings over the line. He used this exact player as an example of them not getting their man.

25-year old Austrian, starting his  6th season with RBL. More of an engine-room player than an attacking midfielder. I suppose Hendo is the closest thing we have to him in terms of role.

Not to familiar with him. How do you rate him?

He seems to be your typical German midfielder (even though he's Austrian). Hard-working, versatile, not the fastest but not a slouch either, has a powerful shot on him but not always a precise one. All things considered, he's not too dissimilar to Hendo when he was the same age (as Robby said before me).

He may not be the flashiest name, but he'd be a good fit for Klopp's system. If we can get him at a reduced price, he could be a smart addition.

What do people think of Douglas Luiz? I'll admit he's never really caught my eye but Gerrard's said with a year left on his contract he might move on tomorrow.

I agree 100% in buying the right player but there must be hundreds of midfield players in the top European Leagues alone but we cant identify one. Our target apparently went to RM so what just give up no plan B doesnt sound like how we have done business these past seasons does it.

As much as I love this suggestion -- you can't ignore the fact that we are struggling in the engine room and could use some fresh blood.  I get all the arguments as to why we aren't signing anyone, and they are understandable.  But.... don't try to sell me on the idea that there isn't a single available CM who would improve us and fit our long term strategy.  It does stink of a lack of ambition....

That's not a shot at Klopp or the owners.  They have jointly been responsible for a lot of success and good times recently.  I just wish they'd speculate a little more.
