Gomez and Jones aren’t going anywhere

Kelleher might be looking to leave to become no 1 somewhere

Fringe players like Phillips etc will be sold on

Some of the young lads will prob get a loan

And I can see two younger additions

The squad isn’t in a bad place right now - Bacjetic coming back is key , Van Der Berg will be given a chance

There is potential there won’t be much bought

I'm expecting a couple of signings, Centre back and holding MF.

Apart from that like u say, squad is pretty good. Especially if we have a bit more luck with injuries than last season.

In my opinion cashing in Gomez would be crazy.

Can play multiple positions and that profile of player helps get you over the line for a league title

He is versatile for sure, that's arguably his greatest strength and best asset to the club.....had a much better season after 3 years of being poor and pretty unreliable, but at this point I think we need better. Gomez out and getting in a starting calibre player in already makes us much stronger.

Quansah and Sepp as CB cover who I feel are already better defenders. Trent/Bradley and Robbo/Kostas for fullback, we're covered. Don't see why there has to be a spot for Gomez.

No need to sell gomez. Or cash in? We don't need cash.

Phillips will be gone, replaced by sepp maybe.

We just need a new guy to replace matip in squad, although quansah may have already done that.

      Upto new manager tho. Init

Quansah has earned the right to fight for a starting place based on last season.
Bajcetic worth giving time now that he's recovered from injury to see if he can challenge Endo for the role as the 6.
Still think one or two will leave and a couple will come in but will they be U21 players or will we see one or two
that can challenge for the team straight away.

Think Diaz will.leave and Gordon will come in looks.like a lot of ground work done with regards to this, Newcastle fans think he's gone already.

We have more than enough up front especially with the young lads knocking on the door.

For me it's another player in Endos position that's needed, let's not forget we willing to break the bank for that position not long ago.

It's looking like the more likely move in the purely because it's the only one that seemed to have any legs behind it online.
Would be two players in and then continue to develop the young lads.

Probably end up with 5 players gone in total but that's not going to alter much given 4 of them had no impact last season.

Remember lads, the names that are mentioned the most with the journo's pushing us to sign.....are the ones we're probably least likely to sign.

Wouldn't surprise me if the update was that Slot intended to look at who he had with the players coming back from loan,
with deals to be done in January.

Still think a couple of players will come in but they'll be young U21 players.

Would be a huge disappointment if so. It'll be like the summer of 2020 all over again.

We finished 3rd, the fans see everything when they step out onto that pitch - we have obvious areas to improve in if we want to challenge again next season. I'd question the ambition.

If we sign a midfielder or forward then I reckon others will leave.
And maybe they will if the likes of Diaz gets targeted by another club.

Defensive mid only position we are short, we have 2 players for every other position, quality players at that think they will only bring in upgrades rather than add to what we have which will mean one out one in ( DM aside )

During the summer of 2020 we went and signed - Jota, Thiago and Kostas

As I said, it’s clear the first 11 need improving IF we want to try and challenge for the title

Anyone suggesting anything is deluding themselves imo

We have too many numbers, it’s as simple as that. Hopefully we are trying to be winners

      For that to be done

      One attacker out

      One world class attacker in

One cm out and one world class cm in

If not, then simply we will get what we got last season or worse

Why does it have to be “world class” in ?

Football is simple bud, the better the players you have, the better chances you have to succeed

We need someone I feel to help with our midfield, I think we can improve the quality in it that could help us dominate the midfield a bit more and also help out our defence

We also need to score more goals more than expected like Arsenal and city did

You have seen what the players can do, they showed it last season, unless we get a dramatic improvement from an attacker and someone else then the outcome will be the same or worse

It all depends what people want to do

The standard bearers are Manchester City, that’s what we aim to beat, end of, no loser talk and making excuses

The team is not good enough to beat them, that’s obvious. So we give try to get there by improving, I hope we show ambition and go for it

Before klopp, left, he said the squad needed a couple of changes, so even he knew

Aim for number 1, you need to start thinking like that and not thinking as a runner up

World class players, you saw what the last set did for us, that’s what we need again

Vvd and Ali were shown to be

I am not looking for names, I’m just telling you as it is and the reality.

We need a couple of first team players, whether they cost 1 quid or 50 million

They need to hit the ground running when they arrive and be shown to be world class. Hopefully we get a couple not that well known which are shown to be class

For that to happen, as klopp said when he left, a couple of changes are needed

The current squad is not good enough to challenge city quality wise.

That’s the problem when you start throwing around labels like “world class”

It’s not about buying individuals - that’s what Chelsea and man Utd have tried - it’s about having the right people in the right role

And there is no reason why the current squad with players like Bajectic back , Dom used to the league and a bit more luck with injuries then the team can challenge for trophies just like they did last season.

There is a lot of talent in the squad that’s just going to keep developing

I agree with you but I think we probably need to buy a very good DM as the priority this summer even with Bajcetic coming back into the squad.

The other positions are probably ok unless someone wants to leave. I agree with you that Kelleher appears to be the most likely to go.

Obviously if we can pick up a few quality players at a decent price it's a bonus, especially at RW, LB and CB.

CB - Van Der Berg will get a run

LB - not sure we need to bring one in when we have two very good ones plus some talented youngsters coming through

RW - tough one with Salah at the club but it’s definitely an area that’s going to need looking at

DM is the key one - Endo is decent , if he was 24 then he would be seen in a lot better light

Think we may see Bajetic and Gary Mac together as a two with Dom ahead
