What a disappointing window it's been so far.

Does anyone actually expect us to do any business?

I feel like I made a post awhile back saying I didn't think we'd do any business. What do I win?

Proper left back, watched a lot of him can develop going forward in a better team but he's solid. When under pressure never turns into trouble which Robertson has developed a nasty habit in doing.

Makes the most sense of any of the young players I've seen mentioned with LFC this month.

He is the player I expected them to look at

Exactly the profile I would see the club looking at

If Konate can't stay healthy and Quansah isn't the answer I really think we need a new CB before a LB. Tsimikas can do a job on the left along with Robertson (maybe rotating will push Robbo to return to his old form).

I love a Gomez-Virgil partnership but Joe can't seem to stay fit either.

Hato can play LCB and LB.

There are 3 RCBs at the club and van Dijk,
and both Robbo and Tsimikas are heading for 30.

A player like Hato would be ideal.

Hato is also a Left sided cb

      He can fit both roles

I like both on paper, butni haven't watched the Hato kid. Kerkez seems the business amd is already prem proven. Imagine he still stands to grow a great deal as a player.

The Hato kid seems a bit young? Again, I've never seen him though

I hpoe we make a couple of moves. Feels like our season right at a tipping point with the recent defensive issues and run of draws. I'm also dissapointed to see that Arsenal appear to be wrapping up a summer deal with Zubimendi. He's a cracking playerand depsite the fact he turned us down last summer, i daresay he would have been game if the club had gone back in for him. I am perpectually unimpressed by Richard Hughes. Thus far he's bought one player who looks like he'll be gone before long and has made zero progress on secuing the futures of our three best players. Fingers crossed we see somethin good happen in the next couple of weeks.

The announcement of the Zubimendi deal it appears was premature

He hasn’t agreed to anything and it’s nowhere near a done deal

I'm always weary of these types of LCB/LB hybrid types and same at RCB/RB because you usually end up with a player that is cumbersome and deliberate when asked to play at full back or not physically strong enough to be a central defender.

      Paolo Maldini says hello

In all seriousness I do get your point as they are hard to find.

Personally I'd be happy with a LB if we think Quansah is going to progress next season. That does remain to be seen though.

My old man always told me that anything meant for two different tasks never did either of them good.

He was usually talking about tools and such but I think the point still stands.

      I think pretty much so.

Don't want too many Erik Diers at the club just because they're able to play 3 positions badly.

James Milner is the perfect example of someone who can fill a number of positions to a high standard

Handy to have in a crisis but I just prefer the idea of buying the best centre half we can bring in rather than buying one that's got transferable skills.

Think we need a new left back and I think we need a left footed centre half.

Wouldn't mind Kimmich because he plays midfield and full back very well but just the skill set between centre half and full back like I say I find the skill sets don't particularly carry over. Not always but a lot of the time.

Gomez for example can do a job but he's not in the first team at either discipline.

Left sided CB at the moment is VVD , going to be tough to bring someone who to sit on the bench

Hato and Hincipie for example are both equally adapt as a left back and someone who can play at CB

Gomez was very good as a right back , very good at Left back and excellent as CB

Kimmich is more a midfielder now like Milner can move to RB if needed

Like I say I'm weary of bringing in players just because they are versatile. I want a left back that can get up and down and not be a hinderance when they're forwards. (Robbo still does go forwards under Arne just less so please don't tell me that  :D)

Agree to disagree on Gomez being excellent and very good. Maybe sometimes good and okay.

What a player is like in his specialist position is more important to me.

Van Dijk wouldn't make a full back and Bradley wouldn't make a centre half. I don't hold it against them.
