      Neck injuries. Once they have established he is breathing they won’t risk paralysis by moving him too quick.

      They have to stabilise the patient due to the neck injury...one wrong move could paralyse the person for life..

      I always thought that they put the collar on and get you to the hospital. Makes sense that they take their time and asses the situation. I know it sound stupid but i have always that that the key is to get the victim to the hospital ASAP.
