Just noticed in a post I made that Gordon Hodgson never won a trophy with the club. Got me thinking what all time Luverpool elevens can we come up with of players who never won anything at the club.

To make it a bit more interesting dont include players less than three seasons at the club or young players who never made it but might have dobe well elsewhere.....

Torres, Coutinho and Mascherano definitely noticeable on that list.

The nice problem is that there have been so few barren periods in the last 50 years.

I'm sure some of the older members might remember great trophyless players from periods in the 60s.

Its incredible really how over the years we have landed at least one trophy in most players time at the club.

The 50s was barren but a huge portion of the players of that time either carried over from the 40s title win or continued on into Shanks time

      Struggling more....

                                                             Mignolet
                                         Tanner Mascherano  Diao  Hutchinson
                                                  Reidle   Coutinho.  Speedie
                                                Dundee.     Torres.   Collymore

Had good old Bob Bolder in as GK but he never actually wore the gloves in anger, but then I spotted Brian had listed Mignolet and that was my get out of jail card, I think the rest are ok but I got a fookin headache now and can’t be arsed digging anymore 😂

Anyhoo, best I can come up.

Crikey, Mignolet appearing in all these first eleven tells you everything.

With a better keeper would Liverpool have won the title in 2014? I think so.

Would have won it in the 90s with a better keeper

At the same time, we won the league by such a big margin last season that it could have been Migs in goal and we still would have won it.

Probably although the defence in front of him was nowhere near title winning quality either. Only Agger from that lot was good enough and he couldn't stay fit.

Depends on the definition of the word ‘won’
Mignolet was on the bench for the 18/19 CL final and I presume has a winners medal?

So many of our fans have this opinion on the likes of agger, and there are several other players I can name too.

We had a soft spot for him because he had ynwa on his knuckles and scored a few screamers. But he was nowhere near top level standard - rio, vidic, Terry, etc

Compare VVD to agger now and the difference is huge. That’s the standard required to win titles.
