No rumour mate it’s happening, although not official, nothing will be announced until the season is over both here and in Germany, first signing of the rebuild this.

But like most signings, I won’t be celebrating until he’s holding a Liverpool scarf above his head in front of the Kop.

No rebuild needed Billy.  Two or three new players as usual in the summer (hopefully including this guy). Some outgoing as well,(Shaq and Ox I guess) and a chance for some key players to healthy before a proper preseason.

Seems to all be coming from that one bloke...Fabrizio whatshisname....... He's been claiming it for awhile. Not sure how reliable he is but he's all in on the rumor.

      I.C.

We will know soon enough for sure though anyway.

No not this season mate but we do need to start for the seasons after, Salah, Bobby, Mane, Hendo, Matip, Fabinho, all in and around the 30 to 30 + milestone, Milner hitting the 35 mark, yes these athletes are super fit and probably get a season or two more from them but we really do need to integrate replacements gradually to ensure a smooth transition, I see the likes of a Konate signing as part of the new breed coming in, if he does indeed arrive I’m hoping the likes of a Gravenberch, Bissouma, Sancho, Grealish age group of players to arrive too, one or three from the academy perhaps stepping up,

Look at our rivals mate, City are a ageing side, they’ll want the players we would fancy so stealing a March on them gives us a upper hand, Chavs already have a plethora of young talent in Mount, Havertz, Pulisic, Gilmour, Odoye, etc and their gaining experience as we type,

Look I’m sure there are plans afoot regarding new faces, but I’d like to see us adding more quality with the added longevity to ensure we don’t fall behind our nearest and dearest, interestingly Dortmund are willing to listen to offers for Haaland next season, with a obvious high buy out clause, I’d love us to buy him in the way we got Naby, buy now pay for the next three seasons kinda deal, it’ll probably never happen but never say never in football.

Watch this space as they say ?

Nat and Rhys are loans jobs, the German lad is going back to Germany, Preston lad is a squadsmen, Joel and Joe are injury prone. We didnt replace Lovren. Virgil is coming back from a bad injury.

We need TWO center backs bruv.

Even with everyone fit, we're 2 injuries away from a Championship level defense again.

I wonder how we are going to find his £30.5m fee.

      1) Who are the potential outgoings and how much can they raise?
      2) How much will we need to additionally fund excluding amounts raised from exits?

This gives us an idea how much shortfall we’d have to make up or how much excess that we can additionally spend.

Those are questions no one outside the team has an answer to. We can all hypothesize on who we want to sell or how much we want for each player, but it's just a wish list. We have no idea the state of other teams and how much they are going to spend in the summer.

We need one centre back. Let's assume the medical department know what they're doing. Let's hope Konaté is done as he looks the business.

Klopp's already said Phillips and Williams will be around next season due to the uncertainty over Virg Joe and Joel return dates so unless he's 100% confident all three will be back for Day 1 of the season I think he'll stick to that, and if he's promised those 2 lads they'll be here next season then they will be, I don't see him changing that unless one or both of them got offers from elsewhere and wanted to go play first team football. Phillips has said before that's what he wants and I imagine his agent will be getting offers of first team football from other clubs right now. Let's see if he does want first team footie, or just a nice juicy contract off LFC and then a return to the wilderness in the medium term.

We only have a need for two new centre backs if Joel leaves, and he's got 3 years left, and who is gonna buy him off us? He'll be here for at least one more season whether people like it or not, unless he just wanted to leave and go back to Germany or whatever. Possible but I doubt it.

There have been periods several months long when both Joe and Joel have been just as good as Virg, so the idea that anyone else has overtaken Joel and Joe as 2nd or 3rd choice CB is gubbins, bobbins, dustbins, and any other type of -bins. It's massively disrespectful to those 2 lads and the contribution they've made to our success. Even Konaté is only gonna be 4th choice until proven otherwise, and he looks like a young Sol Campbell so potential to be very very good.

We need 4 ready to go rotational CB’s at any one time, Virgil, Gomez, Matip & Konate if he indeed comes in, with back up provided by Phillips & Kabak, assuming Joel overcomes his injury woes after seeing the specialist, if not Phillips or Kabak step up, as usual we will have a busy schedule so having 4 cb’s rotating will be vital, I think Williams will go out on loan to a Championship club to gain experience, and to allow his body to fill out, he’s too skinny/lightweight,

IMO, we need a RB to back up Trent, I’m not convinced Neco is our guy, maybe a loan deal would do him the world of good, and Tsimikas needs a run out to show his worth and give Robbo a much needed break, but we really need a quality back up for Trent or he could break down with fatigue,

Midfield additions are a absolute must also, we cannot expect Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo to play the whole season at the intensity we play at, it’s likely we will lose Gini, possibly Ox, definitely Shaq, Grujic, Wilson, that leaves us Milner & Jones with wee Harvey back from Blackburn, so very light in the engine room, IF and it’s a big IF Ox stays I’d rotate him with Bobby, for me he’s best suited linking up with the front three instead of on the right, where he doesn’t have the same impact, if he’s fit and injury free he could save us a few million chasing another AM,

Ideally, we could do with some new youth coming in, lads in the 21-24 age group, and blend them in the Liverpool way, Gravenberch, Bissouma, Tielemans, Rafinha immediately spring to mind, I’m sure Jürgen will have a few rabbits in that hat Edwards wears, so we’ll see soon enough who they are, anyhoo, I’m not expecting a lot in the transfer window but we do need to bring 3/4 new faces to help keep up with the Jones’s.

Would be good if we could get the majority of our business done before the Euros.

Looks increasingly likely we have the first swinging dick through the door already, apparently We've stumped up the release clause money to Leipzig, Konate imminent now, just the medical and the formalities and it's done 😁

Matip would be gone for me and give Phillips his number. He can't play three games in a row.

Supposedly medicals are done, it's the release clause we still have to pay. But yes, still imminent from what I read.

I agree, if Matip is willing to accept a part time role, he's an outstanding option coming off the bench.

Question on Gomez though...if we are really paying 40m for this new kid....that's not sit on the bench money so I'm wondering if Gomez' injury is worse than we've been lead to believe?

Reasonably so. The fee feels like Keita all over again. And do we have the injury record of this potential player for reference?

A large chunk of the season he was on the bench through nagelsman's choice.
