Arse have some decent players who are clearly not on top of their game. We know how that feels don’t we.
I did think they would sit deep and try catch us on the break. Clearly Jürgen out thought them and we made them look ordinary. When they get their game together they are decent,
We just made them look poor !

More like ourselves now. Midfield and defence were good all game. Front 3 still not quite there and needed Jota to come on and show a bit of ruthlessness (although Mo was fairly lively all game).

Fab obviously makes a massive difference. We so missed having a real DM when him and Hendo were both out. Kabak and Phillips continue to look a perfectly decent pair of back up CBs. Phillips has to be kept on in the summer - solid, dependable, committed CB. £18m might be a bit pricey for Kabak, but if he keeps ticking along he may be worth it.

Very much back in the running for top 4 now, and if 2 of our usual front 3 can start to click alongside Jota, the European Cup is not out of the question either. (Not getting carried away yet mind you, cos Arsenal were pretty bad. But we were pretty good, and seem to be clawing our way back into something recogniseably us.)

Jota is Luis Garcia on drugs.

Salah is HUNGRY for that golden boot without the added pressure of the PL title I think he is going to get it.

Two rocks at the back in Natt and Kabak, things you love to see.

Let's keep this momentum going, YNWA!

Klopp on some of the lineup and substitutions tonight. Some of you seem to think players are robots, but it is good that they aren't treated by the coaching and medical staff like pieces of meat.

"We had to make decisions. Look, Diogo played a little bit too much for Portugal for my taste – not criticism of Portugal, just he was long injured, we played him immediately because Bobby was injured and he played too much for us already. Then he went to Portugal and the last two games were really intense, so he felt it a little bit. Gini played all three games for Holland, Robbo looks like he plays all the time for Scotland, every second. So we had to make these kind of decisions – some didn't start, some didn't finish the game. But in general, we had tonight the choice, that's very important. All the boys in the moment – hopefully it stays like this – had a long enough time after the injury they had maybe, are in a good moment and in a good shape as well. We have opportunities. I could have lined up tonight five, six other players who are all in a good shape. Curtis Jones played for the U21s outstanding, Shaq played super, Naby trained outstanding for us, Oxlade is in a really good moment. So that's the situation we have now and now we have to use that for the tough period coming up. That's it. "

That cross from Trent, though? Jeez. Ironically, it was as bendy and awkward as Gareth Southgate's unqualified and ugly F***ing Chevy Chase.

Southgate is a puppet who dances to other people’s music. Someone else is pulling his strings.
Clearly a yes man or the likes of that imobile lump Mings wouldn’t be anywhere near the england squad. He has to be the least talented player to ever put a foot on the england coach, let alone play. Southgate is a complete arse licker.

Now, I get it about Jota. But for me, it was a travesty that Jota did not start given his form. Firmino seems to be back in form physically and technically but his influence on the game is very low. Say whatever you want but Salah and Mane seem to score more when Jota is playing now.

As for midfield, Fabinho showed again how good and important he is. Milner was very good too. Always doing his best to create something. As for Thiago, I'm still not happy about what he's doing: no initiatives and some passes slow us down too often.

Kabak was just awesome. He played with a calmness which reminded me of Van Dijk at times. No rush, just do what you do.

It was a performance worthy of our champion status.

In the pre-match interview Klopp said it wasn't to do with form and more to do with his physical condition after internationals.

Think it worked out well - he had half an hour in him and it was a very good half hour.
