10 mins after HT only positive.  Second best in all departments so slow Midfield moving the ball forward giving them so much time to regroup up against it must win Saturday

What? If we win 2-0 the tie is 3-3 and we win due to away goal, no?

Truly gobsmacked by that performance, we are Premier League Champions for goodness sake. I have no confidence we can finish top 4, with a full crowd at Anfield I still think we could do it, but an empty Anfield, sadly I think a match too far!

Can’t wait for next week when we beat this lot at Anfield...

Mane needs to be spoken with & Trent needs words too... far too emotional...

I think we had the final in our minds and a bit of revenge but that took our focus away...

Can we beat Madrid 2 nil at Anfield?

Seems massively unlikely but then again we've done far more than the unlikely before.

Not beyond us at all but I'm less confident than I normally am.

Midfield was all wrong tonight and although I was happy to see Naby start that proved to be a huge error.

The two CB were the least of our worried and got a lot of criticism on here from some but far from our biggest problem.

Up front an it didn't seem to click again and I'm a bit lost for words as what to say about Sadio Mane. Been poor for ages and I'm not sure if it's because of his Covid infection or if he simply is reaching the end of the line with us.

You know when you are bad when vinicius junior causes you problems.  Awful all over the pitch. Team selection wrong, why take jota and not mane off. Bizarre

It's not Anfield without the crowd.

      Got what we deserved tonight.
      Better 2nd half though.
But damage was done in first half.
Madrid looked dangerous every time they attacked, we didn't.

Jürgen has to take responsibility for Keita starting a massive game he clearly wasn't ready to start.
And for waiting until after the 75th minute to make a 2nd change.
And how the F**k does he then take off Jota and leave Mane on the pitch after him putting in the worst performance possibly of his LFC career!!!

On individual level - TAA was a disaster in the first half. And Keita.
      Second half, Mane dire imho.

      Incredibly disappointing.
Madrid were the better side, sharper, quicker.
But we shot ourselves in the foot a bit too.
But probably was more a reflection of where we really are this season.

Fair enough, but i think we can (assuming Kabak isn't hurt). Just need our best players to play as such and not with a thumb up their ass like they did today.

Poor performance tonight.  Madrid the better team, which isn't surprising looking at respective results this season.

2-0 would have been a bigger mountain than 3-1 though.

Second half performance was miles better than the first. i think Jürgen did very well at half time, cos we looked completely gone in the first half. Shame we conceded that 3rd goal. Obviously they have classier back up CBs than we do and it did make a difference to the score, but the truth is our CBs were let down by everybody else in the first half. Nat and Kabak weren't perfect, but they didn't let themselves down.

Anyway, we are still in the tie, which it didn't look like we would be. Hopefully we get a ref who gives us the odd free kick at Anfield.

(Looking ahead to the summer, if RM are looking to offload Vinicius to raise some funds, we should be interested.)

Oh well it was nice to dream of cl for a bit, but big reality check, Real Madrid a far better team.

Bullshit they are not far better,we were crap and Jürgen got his tactics and line up wrong,to many players have put poor showings for far to many games this season,we just don't have a plan B when plan A doesn't work, slow build ups and many many mistakes,Real should have won by more, agree with you about Gini, why give him the armband when he's leaving what message does that send to the players.Would like to see us turn it round but there's been to many gutless performances this season. With the showing by the CB'S tonight you can see why Jürgen has put fab in there.

Kabak our man of the match, come at me.

We have been through worse, I think we can do it.

Show no fear get at them, I would play all of our front four.

Went for Shaq for MoM but could easily have been Bobby as they both had the fewest minutes to be as crap as the rest of them.

To beat them 2 0 will mean dropping people who cant defend and setting up a midfield to breskthrough a packed defence but also able to cope with quick breaks

Do you see that as a reality?

Hands down our best player. Made multiple top-level defensive plays and at 18M he looks like a bargain.

dont think a single player comes out of that well. madly, the best were probably the centre backs! Its not Phillips fault he cant run.

every single other player i thought was really really disappointing. Mane seems to have forgotten how to play football. looks absolutely gassed. ditto robertson/gini.  lets face it, the whole season has been a disaster since Van Dijk's injury. cant wait for it to end....

How many times did [and do] midfielders stop, and pass back.
Don't understand why we keep doing this, slowing attacks down, when that is exactly the opposite of what we SHOULD be doing.
