      Second leg:

      Allison

      TAA
      Phillips
      Kabak
      Robertson

      Thiago
      Fabinho

      Shaq
      Firmino
      Jota

      Salah

No choice, if they score we need to score as much as possible.

Was fairly embarrassing seeing 36 year old Modric pressing us in the 90th minute.

Hands down our best player. Made multiple top-level defensive plays and at 18M he looks like a bargain.

Any hint yet as to why he went off?

No, haven't heard anything. Hopefully tactical because he and Nat have been a great pairing.

It's not Anfield without the crowd.

100% agree and there's no way that defence keeps a clean sheet in the second leg.

      Gutted.

First up, I don't wanna see Thiago having a friendly chat with his mate after the final whistle.

We were all over them in the last 15/20 but didn't produce a single shot - we don't move the ball forward, we just play it back or across the line.

Wijlaldum had a mare tonight and should have been subbed - I love the guy but he was rank tonight.

Kabak dug us out of trouble and shouldn't have been subbed, although I get that it was tactical.

Keita - not a fan but he did better than Thiago and shouldn't have been hauled off.  Klopp's fault - play him or don't, but don't destroy him like that.

To give TAA credit, he came back after a woeful start but, clearly, he's been told to defend.  There was no interaction between our midfield and attack.  Mo scored, but otherwise just gave the ball away.

The subs were far too late but, in any event, for all the possesion, we didn't have a single shot on target.  Jota's our form player but it wasn't his night and I can't blame him.  Right to take him off, but it should have been earlier: Shaq is on form and could maybe have done something?

I detest Real but they were the better team - better players, better organized and the score reflects the match.  2-0 at Anfield will be hard.

I'm looking forward to the home leg against Real, Team Selection Is key ,Fabinho and Thiago have to start together ,might be an idea to also start Curtis in midfield to get some energy flowing ,Still think we can turn this around at Anfield

I didn't see Barcelona not scoring at Anfield either.

Unlikely we will beat them 2-0 but unlikely isn't impossible either.  Two daft mistakes from long balls and a pretty weak save by Alisson led to their goals tonight.  You could put all three of them down as individual errors.

Come on Man, I know it’s tough to take, we are all gutted but let’s just hope we have another night like we did against that other mob from Spain, on that magnificent night in our History!

There's hope but no fans in the ground hardly makes being at home an advantage. Our home form suggests Real can start planning for Chelsea/Porto.

City got this year in the bag... surely.

I still don't understand why after seeing how well Thiago and Fab can play in midfield together Thiago got dropped for the biggest game of the season.

      Please someone explain to me.

What's the point on focusing on re-qualifying for a competition if you're not going to focus on it anyway when you're in it?

We're massive underdogs next week yes but crazier things have happened in football.

Fab/Gini/Thiago is not a particularly creative three.
      That's all I can think.
Would have thought Jones though would be a mile ahead of Keita for selection.

Keita did F**k all wrong for me, Gini was the issue in the first half in midfield not Naby. But credit to Gini he turned it around but then again maybe Naby could have played better with Thiago by his side.

      Don't play Gini then.

My ideal 3 is Fab, Thiago and Naby.
