We just lost mate. Played well and lost. Mentality was there but the class just wasn't.

Damage done in the Madrid hut.

Not sure buddy you only play well when you hit the back of the net. Game is all about who scores more goals.

Secondly Salah, Bobby and Firmino bottling it in front of goal is about mentality ie the te@m sh*t their pants in front of goal once Salah missed the sitter in the first couple of minutes.

His goals tally speaks for itself, he scores 20 league goals or more a season and has the most in a PL season. His conversion rate is higher than Harry Kane who everyone states is world class, so because he’s missed a few tonight he suddenly needs replacing?

I don't think the easiest of all the chances fell to Salah.

If Salah and Firmino swapped their opportunities around it might have been different!

Wasn't to be.  Madrid are better right now than we are.  Simple as that.

Shuffling Fabinho back into defence after an hour so that Thiago could come on to take all the intensity out of the game ended the last remnants of my optimism.

Biggest danger for Madrid tonight was probably the coach journey to the ground.

      What?

How can you say we've waited one season too long to sell Bobby and Mane?

We literally only won our first PL title last season with them!

This Summer I would be open to selling one for sure but can't see many bidders who will pay what we will sell for.

I'm reading Paisleys book right now. That dude was ruthless with players. He never seemed to get too emotionally attached to players, and moved guys a year too early, rather than a year too late. I think you can attribute him being English footballs best manager to him being this way. We finished the season very poorly, even before lockdown we were starting to look burnt out.

Bobby hasn't been Bobby for some time now, that much was clear last season. But in a COVID stricken year, what are you gonna do!?!? Sadio is a bit of a different story, as he has just hit a wall.

Sadly, this is the year we should be looking to sell Mo. He's stipp in great form and you know you could get a lot for him, but you also know the team that pays a boat load for him would get him in the decline in his peak. Only issue is, the other 2 are in tragic form.

Salah didn't miss a chance early on. His shot was saved
by Courtois. However all three of the forwards missed easy chances later.

Played a pass to Robbo, went wide, he told Robbo take it on your chest. Robbos mentality was let the ball hit the deck and fire a cross in, Thiago was spot on to say it but it shows the mindset of our lads, never try something out of the norm

Think that's the problem at times he is ahead of others intelligent wise and knowledge of the game not really sure why we don't see him more with Fab to be honest

He was far from excellent, he was good occasionally.
Not quick enough with the passes. Runs into opposition players with the ball to often.
Rarely makes a decisive forward pass, and his shooting is reserved for when he has an orange shirt on.
Please don’t tell me he’s excellent, he’s not even close.

You are probably onto something with Klopp being too loyal with certain players.

Mane out of form since Dec
Bobby out of form for 18 months.

Gini out of form since Dec

Even Robbo been gash all season but will he give Tsimikas a chance?

Maybe it’s just the biggest hangover ever from winning the league last year but what’s not in doubt is a rebuild of the front 3

Was always going to be an uphill task tonight, so difficult with no fans there either to get the lads going like two years ago, the fans tried their best for the boys on the way into the ground with the red flares etc, but it was not meant to be.

Damage was done in the first leg.

Trent man of the match for me, he was a country mile above everyone else tonight.

Such a shame those couple of early chances didn't go in, could have been a whole different ball game if they had.

Onwards and upwards now and we just have to do what we can in the league to get that all important 4th place to enjoy these games again next season.

I’d sell the front 3 in the summer... f**k em right off ..

Agree,Jürgen needs a clear out,you could see tonight Jürgen was getting pissed off,we didn't mix it up and the front 3 who i have defended a lot this season were awful,Mane slows the play down and when he runs he runs straight at the player and loses the ball,Salah was even worse,my son could have put that early chance away and why does he wait for the defenders to close him down to shoot,Firmino is never a striker and that was Jota's worse game for us but he was brought as potential and has done well this season before the injury.WHY didn't they have long pops at their goal,i think Milly was the only onento shoot outside the box.I would sell Bobby,Mane,OX,Shaq,Origi and Keita, whilst Gini has been on the plane since October.Really annoyed at how useless we have become in front of goal.

What engine, if you mean turning back with the ball, never seen such a cowardice from a so called attacking midfielder.

I just don't want to see us go from champs to back where we were when Klopp came in in a matter of seasons. We have to move now and get ahead of this issue. Don't think that Utd, Chelsea, and City won't be doing the same

I think this season we have over complicated our play. Yes there are reasons why we aren’t at our strongest, but our speed of attack has floundered badly and that is the biggest problem IMO.  Trying to play too many passes a lot of the time and not being quick and direct enough.

Edit : There's a lot of understandable prejudice about his reluctance to sign a new contract.
