Created more than enough to score 2 goals but it’s been the story of our season so far not clinical enough with some head scratching and embarrassing efforts truth be told. Give Kane the chance Salah and Gini had tonight and the balls in the back of the net both times.

Mane looks just about done as does Bobby,  Jota was w*nk when he came on. I’ve long written this season off want it over with ASAP. Not even arsed about top 4 at this stage.

Cowardice ? Sorry but that's ridiculous

He literally gets a nose bleed if he approaches the opposition box.

Gini was average And far from being an engine. He should be benched. He does not deserve to play or even less to be captain. This midfield needs to show leadership, he shows none.

The issue of this team is the attack. Not defence. I've said it for months. We saw it today. Mane showed that he's a very good player but his finishing has been abysmal for months now. Salah is Salah and has always missed a lot of opportunities. The issue is that none of Firmino or Mane is scoring now.

Not sure what’s questionable about that?

All have been in awful form over the past 4 months.

Yet he scores regularly for the Netherlands. Perhaps he’s being utilised incorrectly?

What question? You will know when I ask a question because I will end a sentence with a mark like this: ?

Edit : There's a lot of understandable predujice about his reluctance to signa new contract.

Prejudice? Couldn't give a toss if he stays or goes to be honest nothing to with his contract from my point of view

So not to start Robbo for the last  7 games is not questionable ?

Really don't go for all this stuff about needing a clear out in the summer

Bit of knee-jerking after going out of Europe. We actually played well tonight, although we are struggling to keep the intensity for 90 minutes this season. Clearing out the front 3 would be crazy. One quality young reinforcement (Sancho maybe?) will do fine. (Well that plus Keita out and somebody else in in midfield, and ditto for Matip at CB. And back up full backs. But a clear out - definitely not.)

Wow here’s a stat over 2000 minutes since we last scored from a set piece. Comical how many times Phillips and Kabak have barged into opposition players to give away a foul on our own corner. At least twice a game I’ve observed.

Aye we have won 6 champions leagues/European cups  and lost how many?

In most seasons we go on to not win this. Cant be shocked in a season we have had the worst injury record I can remember in my life time that we don't go on to win it this year.

Its been a hard season but its not quite time to panic and sell the lot just yet, albeit we need to start to plan for life without the traditional front 3 purely on the basis they're all hitting 30 together.

      Just wasn't meant to be.

If Salah had his finishing boots on today and Bobby too we would be singing a different tune.

Gutted to be out but we gave everything we could.

Yeah that was a worry when Virgil was out for the season. We managed to score last min against Spurs and force an own goal a few games later.

In these games I always feel a set piece goal is gold dust and its just not on the cards for us at the moment.

I just want to get Virgil back with Gomes. Hendo in along side Fab and we can start to really squeeze the life out of teams and run them ragged once more. And corners will no longer be a time for opposition players to have a breather.

Teams will have to be on their guard for the full 90. So many 2 bit clubs have taken points off us due to our lack of set piece threat.

Yep. And no fans has hurt us more than most, cos as we know we have the most supportive fans (the ones who go to games anyway) of any of the big clubs. There is a reason Anfield has been a fortress and it's the fans. People will say it's an excuse, but it's a fact.

Shitshow of a not-quite-real-football season all round. (Can throw VAR in there as well for me, although it seems they are determined to keep that new kill-the-atmosphere feature.)

Get our first choice defenders back, freshen up the squad with 3 or 4 quality younger players, get the fans back in the stadiums so there's some actual atmosphere in the places, smash all the VAR equipment to bits, and next season'll feel a whole lot different.

Not a great side Madrid which makes it harder to take made Vinicus look a much better player than he is in first leg . Benzema largely anonymous apart from a fluffed header . Got to give it all now and get back in it

was always a big ask, blew it with that shocking performance last week.

felt done from the moment Mo missed at the start. They had no need to do anything, and we struggle like hell to score. This is becoming a concern. Mane looks absolutely gone. try and scab our way into top 4, cant wait for this grim season to end.

In terms of success and achievements.

Top 4 isn't much of a Trophy, but yeah we still have to win matches for that consolation.

It's not about finishing top 4 as a consolation prize it's the implications of not finishing top 4 for next season.

The Arsene Wenger trophy only thing left to play for.

Who would have thought that at the start of the season.

To be fair without Gini's goals in the second leg against Barca we don't win number 6.

It's the disciplined role Klopp wants him to play is the reason he rarely gets in to the box.
