Liverpool Football Club needs to make an official statement that they will be snubbing this potential breakaway league.

They don't need to say anything, just sit back keep your powder dry and watch the room.

I wish that’s what they would have done.

IMO, one way or another this will happen, it’s just a matter of when, and when it does, depending on the structure and what’s left behind we will have no choice but to join.

If the top teams migrate to the ESL, we’re not going to stay behind and play in a league of Bournemouth, Soton, Everton, etc.

Don't be facetious, the broad point is many/most so called big names are created in the media for it's own sake. Supporters, those people who watch games and understand it, support the club, not any specific player, regardless of their often deserved status. If clubs are stupid enough to go down the path of recruiting so called "Big" named players, like Man U. and Chelsea have in recent years.... then that's their loss...evidently.

Your post misses the whole point about the way modern football is now money driven and the better players cost a lot of money and that money needs to come from somewhere. The better the player the more they will cost as a package

As long as there is meritocracy to any idea I'd be open to it.

Uefa and Fifa are so corrupt the brass neck on Ceferin saying football is for the fans and not for sale while tearing up his own rules on re elections so that he can run again and again should be lost on nobody. Dodgy tw*t has no moral grounds to talk.

All these statements are worthless at the end of the day

They mean nothing if Saudi suddenly offer them £10bn each a year etc etc - clubs will fold and jump out of the UEFA comps

This is what frightens me. 🤢

      Quote from Redangel
Not really up to speed on this, but are we the only Club out of the original 6 not to indicate their opposition to it.

What's the point? We're banned from joining, as is the rest of the EPL.

Not yet, but even the government ate F***ing stupid on this. It was never about the Premier league, just the usual brexit reaction of this country. The fact it was all about European competition should be spelt out to the useless beaurocratic cu*ts in charge at the spineless FA.

If the top 6 clubs go to a ESL instead of playing in the UEFA Comps then the Prem isn’t going to ban them

There is no chance of the English teams joining if Florentino Pérez and Real Madrid and Barcelona are running the show

The winning scoreline record is going to be blown apart this season which tells you that the Champions League is sacrificing quality for quantity with this format.

      Yep.

Just thinking aloud here and wouldn't a more tighter compact CL we irh less teams in it been the way forward?

Europa League last four automatically qualify for the following season or something to prevent it being a close shop?

Remember they had the 2 group stages for a bit, then back to 1, now this big tumble dryer of a league. Very far removed from what the European Cup used to be about. I think they will end up changing it again.

I do not think so. The change for the good or bad, will eventually be an ordinary thing and normalised. Everything is like that.

My issue is that they increased the amount of games played or to be played.

The change was made primarily in reaction to the ESL sh*t.
